I took my husband for lunch for his birthday and unfortunately came away feeling very disappointed after much expectation from previous postings. We both had the three course lunch and decided on the pork for main. The maitre' d did worn us that it was served pink but this was not a problem for us ; however when it arrived,... More

The food was lovely and service excellent. It is a little quiet which may suit some. Be prepared for the road up to the hotel which I would not want to do in the dark.

We chose to celebrate our Anniversary at Gidleigh Park and were lucky to be accepted with only 2 days notice. The glorious pictures made us realise that we could take our dog and hopefully give him 20 minutes exercise before we were due. Helpful staff agreed that we could exercise him and gave us map of where we could go... More

Be prepared for a hairy drive to get here but as the hotel comes in to view its well worth it! Service was immaculate from the moment we arrived but also very friendly and relaxed. Food is wonderful as shown by the longstanding Michelin stars. We had the lunch menu, choice of 3 dishes for each course plus canapés and... More

After the stress of circumnavigating Devon lanes we came across the Hotel sign which said not to give up heart, nearly there, just another 1/2 mile. The beautiful arts and crafts house in front of us, as we came round the last bend, was reward enough. Fabulous building surrounded by immaculate gardens. Drinks on the terrace with canapés, and menus... More

Booked for lunch service and selected the Michael Caines 20th anniversary three course menu which actually meant five courses once you had added the extra bits and pieces, Service was the star attraction here as was the very beautiful and tasteful setting , overall a very nice experience, Food was of a very high standard but i could not differentiate... Had lunch at Gidleigh Park earlier this week. It is certainly a detour to get there, but definitely worth it! Aperitifs were firstly served on the terrace overlooking the gardens, then inside for the meal. Oxtail ravioli was to die for, and the roast duckling exquisite. Raspberry souffle provided the perfect finish. A short walk around the gardens then ended... More

Gidleigh Park is a very beautiful place, and the journey to get there through narrow Devon lanes is a lovely precursor to the experience. Service is generally very good and attentive. The food is of the highest quality, in ingredients, in imagination, and largely in execution. There is also a tremendous wine list (more of a directory than a list,... More

From the minute we arrived we were taken care of brilliantly and the stress from the journey to the restaurant evaporated. We were shown in to the lounge where we had a drink over looking the beautiful grounds and were given our menus. I was pleasantly surprised that my menu had been adapted to take in to account the fact... More

We visited Gidleigh Park for lunch and opted for the summer menu after a long debate. Both the signature menu and summer menu really appealed to us, as did the a la carte so we had a real job choosing. The service was impeccable without being pretentious. The food was fantastic, I couldn't fault anything about it. It was on... More
