The best we have stayed at. Perhaps there could be more West Country art - see review of the Pestana in Lisbon - but otherwise excellent.

An excellent meal in every respect. Superb cuisine, lovely surroundings and excellent staff. There was a lovely choice on the menu and a wide ranging wine list. However, it is not cheap!

This was our second visit to Gidleigh park and our first for lunch rather than dinner. Having previously been blown away by their signature menu we had high expectations of lunch which happily were more than met each course was beautifully presented and the flavours were wonderful. Portions were just right for lunch and the service was superb. This is... More

Quite simply fantastic. The setting is beautiful, as is the hotel and rooms. The food along with the wine were both out of this world to. The staff are attentive with out being over bearing and all come with a welcome smile. It has the rare balance of style and grace without being pretentious. Great, can't recommend it enough

First night of dining out of five was truly bad. From Sun-dried Tomato and Olive Bread through to (but excluding) dessert tasted of nothing else but vingar- it was as if everything had been doused in it. Not only that, but the Warm Pigeon Salad was raw. Another table (one of three complaining that night), said 'its still flapping'. In... More

I've not been to Gidleigh for a couple of years, but when ever I do it's outstanding. Go for lunch, even the amuse bouche is to die for

Faultless service. Food beautifully presented and the desserts tasted divine. They have a really great vegetarian menu which gives you more options than the menus at most luxury restaurants. Intimate dining room. - great for couples/romantic meal. Would go there with plenty of time to spare (we spent about 2-3 hours for drinks and 3 courses) this is a dining... More

Enjoyed my birthday meal at Gidleigh Park...we had the sample tasting menu and it was stunning...i have eaten at some swanky places before but the quality & presentation of this menu was second to none. Personally designed by Michael Caines who by the way is one of the best chefs to be found in this country...it was simply stunning!!

Loved the whole experience. On our visit there were no children- we have grown quite intolerant to screaming, noisy children since ours have grown up. Expensive but surely that makes it even more exclusive.
