Visited on a very cold windy night in May -uncharacteristically blizzard weather - so felt like a real effort which was no fault of Gidleigh Park . Still a stunning location and a beautiful house. But all felt very hushed and rather lacking in atmosphere, compounded by the actual dining room. I was given the best view out to the... More

Wonderful hotel. The drive there is through beautiful country narrow lanes (with a sign saying don’t lose heart, you are still on the way there!!) and the surroundings don’t disappoint when you arrive. The entrance to the building is like walking to the someone’s home and you are greeted like their guests. That feeling continues throughout the visit. We were... More

We had a delicious lunch experience at Gidleigh Park. A lovely area to explore followed by a very refined meal in the restaurant - makes for a very "English" experience. Service is impeccable and the chef has previously worked for the famed Joel Robuchon, making this a 5 star experience in a beautiful country setting. Expensive but very worth it!

Easily the best meal ever From the 1st phone call to book to the last moment there everything was superb Every taste was fantastic and our 3 course lunch was more like 6 with all the additions. Gardens are also beautiful and the veg garden a work of art. Gorgeous food attentive but not pushy service and that feeling of... More

My trip to Gidleigh Park was a belated birthday surprise and I was absolutely delighted. From the second we entered the hotel, the staff were attentive and knowledgeable, friendly but not familiar - everything was described perfectly and my daughter-in-law, who is pregnant, was offered alternatives to some of the courses on the tasting menu. We had the most delicious... More

We had the most amazing weekend ever in November of last year. My fiancée had chosen the hotel to propose to me and what an amazing place to have that memory! We will have to come back now every year. The wine lovers weekend was worth every penny. Every time I hear someone mention Gidleigh it makes me smile!

The Perrier Jouet dinner on our first night was superb. The matching of the food and Champagne was skilful and the individual attention of Michael Caines was appreciated.
