Spent the loveliest evening in the Birdcage. . A tiny quirky and cosy place. Simon and his helpers are a happy friendly bunch.. The tapas were just delicious. .. can't fault this little gem in anyway. .will definitely be going back.

So good I came back twice. First time for very nice cream tea with scones stright out of the oven...and the second for the Victoria sponge. No superlatives can describe how good the sponge was...i have never had better. Also the lady who runs the cafe was really friendly..

Lovely place, great service and fresh and tasty pizzas. The tapas to start with was well cooked and presented and we were sorry we were too full to try the deserts!

I have lived in England for just under a year and this is the best lunch I have had to date! I ordered the picnic with Ham/Cheddar and it was a perfect meal! (Added a picture) I loved it! My husband ordered and Ham/Cheddar/mustard Baguette and he loved his as well. He also got the Very Berry smoothie which was... More

This is our second visit in the month of June. We were very impressed on both visits with the excellent food and very friendly and helpful service. It is a small venue overlooking the village square. Bags of atmosphere with soft background music together with fresh flowers on the tables & window sill. I had one of their pizzas made on... More

We called in here recently for a light lunch - in fact so light, apart from drinks, we actually shared the smoked salmon, bacon, cream cheese, chutney baguette (referred to by NikonFX). It was delicious and I wish we had had room to try other things on the menu. Quirky is definitely the word for this restaurant and that is... More

We found this place about a year ago after we heard someone talking about it. The place is quite small, and has really quirky decor, and you have to use the loo's in the square about 10m away, which again makes it really quirky. We have eaten here about 5 times for dinner usually on a Friday night. We have... More

Dropped in after a walk on the moor with a friend from Leuven who was excited about having a cream tea. Lovely little eatery. Cosy and charming with very friendly staff. Beautiful china for tea... The smoked salmon, bacon, cream cheese and mango chutney sandwich... to die for. The cream tea was everything she hoped for and all beautifully presented.... More
