Great food!

Highly recommend this restaurant. You bring your own wine which is a really nice touch (there's a Spa shop close by if you need to get a bottle). Lovely place and great food. Closed for evening meals Monday- Wed which is a pity as I would have gone several times. Best place in Chagford to eat... read more

We ate hear on Saturday night and I can honestly say it has been the best meal of our holiday. BYO meant we had a fairly cheap (because we didn't have to pay inflated prices) bottle of St Emilion wine which complimented the food brilliantly. Do not miss a visit to this establishment

Whiddons Eatery was an absolute breath of fresh air... food was SUPERB. Truly home-cooked, delicious and everything went with everything. Anyone who visits Chagford without eating here has missed out!

Ate here the Saturday evening of the back holiday, the place was fully booked when arrived and was seated by the window overlooking the church; the place is tiny from the outside looks like an olde English tea room. The menu is small, as it’s only a husband and wife team really understand. I put the wine and beer on... More

Very friendly restaurant in Chagford with great food. The restaurant is BYOB - the ambience slightly quirky and like being in someones living room .. but the food and the service is excellent.I hardpan fried pigeon breast to start followed by a traditional Roast Beef dinner - beautifully cooke. Particularly enjoyed the beetroot and cheese bake as a side dish.... More

A small place to eat, not many tables means and the service is very good, which also applies to the food. A good selection to choose from for a small place, we weren't dissapointed in any aspect of the place. As it's unlicensed, you can bring your own selection of drinks.

Was so impressed with this tiny unlicensed place. I had roast lamb which was amazingly tender and delicious. Served with parsnip chips, various potatoes all cooked to perfection and smooth celeriac cheese. Bread and butter pudding was also divine. A lovely place.

If you get the chance, eat here. The food is delicious and brilliantly cooked. The fact it feels like someone’s front room may put some people off but if that doesn’t bother you, you’ll be in for a real treat. The service is very friendly and intimate and as it’s unlicensed you get to bring your own.

Our first visit to Chagford, which is lovely. Whiddons was warm and friendly and the service was excellent. We both had lunch which was freshly cooked and very good indeed.
