Great food!

Great choice from a simple short menu. Fresh, tasty and locally sourced food! Lots of good choices for children.

It looked promising when we had walked past it when out walking with a group of friends and thought it would be worth a return visit. It was. The staff were particularly hospitable and attentive. Good range of food from the bar-type to more fancy (e.g. Pidgeon Wellington). The tables were more in keeping with a pub lunch than fine... More

We had time to spare before we went to do a house tour, we were a party of 18 and were turned away from the first place in Chagford we tried, however the staff at the three Crowns welcomed our party of 18 with open arms, we stopped for teas, coffees and lots of cake! Lovely setting and the staff... More

We popped in for a beer in the front bar with our hound. Friendly service, spacious room dominated by a fascinating fire. Would like to return at some point. Don't try and park in their car park if you've anything larger than a Smart car !

Spent the last night of 3 in Chagford in the restaurant. The selection was good, we had the Camembert to share as a starter followed by Mushroon Lasagne, Fish and Chips with a coupl of side dishes. Plenty of food, good service (just attentive enough without being pushy). All in all good food, good value.

Having spent only the day in Chagford for a walk and fresh air, we were on the look out for a spot for a well deserved lunch..... the three crowns stood out and the new oak doors and most warming atmosphere (once inside) made us decide to have our lunch. At this stage our loved four legged family member was... More

Stayed here for 2 nights between Christmas and New Year and absolutely loved it! Every part of the stay was just perfect, the staff so friendly and welcoming, the bar warm and cosy with the fire burning in the corner and the room spotlessly clean with everything u need. Had dinner in the restaurant both nights and again faultless! The... More

Travelling down to Devon for a long weekend we were looking for somewhere to stop for lunch. As someone who doesn't like nasty surprises I looked on Trip Advisor for some help. The Three Crowns came up and we decided to give it a try. A light lunch later we were booking a table for two for the following evening.... More

We first went to The Three Crowns some years ago before it had it's make over and had always had a good experience there in every way so were a little apprehensive going there when it reopened as so often some where that has been good can be so different after changes are made. It is REALLY GOOD ! The... More

Eaten here several times with friends, and have no worries about recommending it. The updating of the hotel over recent years has been a welcome inprovment.
