Coffee & Cake

Coffee & cake in the sunshine! We noted they had a special offer on, cake & hot drink for £3.75, so sat outside, in the sunshine, with our 2 dogs. The cake (only one choice, but luckily one we love) was pineapple upside down cake, & the coffee came with those lovely little caramel biscuits. Lovely... read more

My partner and I spent a lovely warm summer evening here. We sat outside in their courtyard with a nice jug of pimms and then enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere to it. Food, wine and service were all excellent!

We had a drink, ploughman's and chips as it was before dinner service which starts at 1800. The ploughman's was nice but small and expensive for what it was. Good service and decor in a lovely building. Would like to try dinner sometime.

Spent the first night of our "mini moon" last week at The Three Crowns. Received a warm welcome and were shown to a large bedroom next to the glass dining room. Nice but obvious it was a pub chain, there was nothing particularly special about the room although we were kindly given two glasses of fizz on the house to... More

The Three Crowns has always been a very pleasant place to stay, with nice rooms , friendly staff and a good restaurant, however, the winds of change have blown in. Unfortunately, the hotel cannot afford crockery any more, with chips served in buckets and the fillet steaks served on pretty awful unhygienic wooden platters, which does nothing for the presentation... We arrived here for lunch with our two dogs after a morning walk. We received the warmest welcome from the lovely staff who looked after us throughout our stay. We chose the burger, which was really tasty and I enjoyed the Luscombe Elderflower. We followed this with the creme brulee cheesecake and the Jamaican Ginger dessert, which was unbelievably good.... The food is amazing, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. In a great place on Dartmoor and there are some great walks nearby too. Very child friendly.

Lovely new glass bar/dining room which seems popular-busy the evening we were in. Efficient waiting staff and reasonable white wine. A pleasant experience

The pub has a lovey mix of really old historic building and modern conservatory and additional bedrooms. The blend is tastefully done and looks great. Service was great and the meal we had really good. It did seem expensive, as they obviously piggy back off of the success of Gidleigh Park Hotel and charge prices based on being cheaper than...
