Three of us arrived without a booking and the waiter quickly identified a vacancy by pushing two tables together which were located in the front room of the restaurant. Throughout the meal we served by very attentive, polite and well presented staff. The mains consisted of two beef suet and a fish platter whilst the desserts were treacle tart; chocolate... More

This place could be beautiful and oozing with character, it isn't. It's not awful, the atrium / conservatory is very pleasant just not as good as it could have been. However the food is VERY POOR. I had a fish and chips which really seemed like it was cooked from frozen, not freshly battered as sold, either way it was... More

We had a meal at the three crowns and were very impressed with the quality of cooking. We had the calamari to start which was soft and cooked to perfection. All in all it was a good meal and reasonably priced for the quality (£60 for two).

We know the Chagford hostelries fairly well having lived there in the past. The Three Crowns was one we had avoided. However, it was recommended by a local shopkeeper, so we tried it. The place has clearly benefitted from the money spent on its refurbishment, but the service and food, whilst acceptable, was not as good as the other pubs... More

We ate here the other night and, in general, the place is great. There are a few details that still need addressing if it is going to be as good as it seems to think it is. The young lady who served us was polite and attentive but some of the others could do with a bot more customer training... More

A fantastic family lunch. All food cooked expertly and well presented. Always good to see clean plates. Staff were attentive and knowledgable. Ok a little on the expensive side but for this quality good value for money. Highly recommended based on this visit.

Met family here for a spot of lunch , we started off inside the main pub , which was a bit quiet and decided to move to the conservatory to eat. We found this a little hot , even sitting by the door ,so table hopped again to the rear courtyard. The menu is not huge , but presents a... More
