Enjoy dinner in the conservatory

V attractive new wood beamed conservatory. Nice menu, especially the fish. Glass good by the glass or the bottle.

When Sally and her husband ran this restaurant and hotel it was a joy to visit.....now sadly not... The staff are unaware of good service and they need a good manager who excels at service and keeping the kitchen on the ball. We used to go weekly...now never as time and time again it has been a huge disappointment. Wrong... More

Booked a table for Sunday evening as I was told Sunday roast would be on offer. My friend never had the choice to enjoy a sunday roast. We were told there was no Sunday roast in the evening... Only for lunch. I told the manager he should instruct his staff properly. We decided to go for rib eye steak. No... More

This hotel had been recommended to me by someone local to Chagford, they rated it highly after they had eaten there and so we booked for a night before travelling on to another hotel for the following night. The service from all of the staff is absolutely faultless and the cleanliness is 100% too . Unfortunately though we had several... More

We dropped in here for an early evening drink with half mind to eat, but returned to where we were staying as that seemed more suitable for my walking colleagues. That said, they serve good ales including Proper Job and the place looked very smart, so is certainly worth a repeat visit for dinner when we are next in Chagford.

Wonderful fish and chips - very well priced and tasty. Nice courtyard to sit out and enjoy the last of the spring sunshine.

We visited here for dinner whilst staying in Chagford for relaxing break. It was so good we went there twice in a week! The food is fantastic - lots of choice, the menu changes every few days - really good gastropod grub! The steak in particular and creme brulee were the best I've had in a long time. But for... More

We only stayed here for one night, but arranged to meet friends there for lunch, along with their 12 month old twins! Not only did the staff (Georgie and Lucy) warm the babies food for us, they brought out warm milk for them, with no hesitation, and I am reliably informed that the baby-changing room is 'state-of-the-art'. Added to that,... More

If you do you might get the chance to see a child projectile vomit! Apart from that the service was great and the snack we had more than did the trick!
