Well worth an evening meal

Nice setting, good, attentive service and lovely meal. The menu used fresh local produce and was beautifully presented. Pace of service was perfect and all dishes were very tasty.

The pub has a lovey mix of really old historic building and modern conservatory and additional bedrooms. The blend is tastefully done and looks great. Service was great and the meal we had really good. It did seem expensive, as they obviously piggy back off of the success of Gidleigh Park Hotel and charge prices based on being cheaper than... This is a nice looking restaurant within the large modern conservatory at the back of the ancient building in a nice looking village. We wished we'd found it sooner before the end of our holiday as it has a nice feel about it. This is much more than pub grub; our food was nicely cooked, nicely presented and tasteful, not... More

Excellent service and food in a lovely village. Large bar areas and outside seating areas, together with a large conservatory area. This really is a nice restaurant. Limited on road parking when busy tho

We stayed here for one night on our way down to Cornwall. The hotel itself is lovely, and the reception staff were very welcoming. Shame this did not continue through to the restaurant. We booked a table at 8pm, and ordered "nibbles" almost straight away. We were pretty hungry and thought humus olives and chicken wings would show up pretty... More

They have clearly spent a small fortune on this place - I remember it only a few years ago from which the interior is only barely recognisable - and they have done a great job. Plenty of staff, all willing and polite. Great environment, especially the glass roof on the main restaurant. We booked in for dinner and perhaps our... More

We stopped here for a quick drink & snack before leaving Chagford for the day. Two of us had soup of the day (Tomato & Basil, 1 x Fish & Chips & 1 x Pate. The soup was tasteless & the bread accompanying it horrible & dry. However if filled a gap but would think twice before returning. Certainly wouldn`t... More

When Sally and her husband ran this restaurant and hotel it was a joy to visit.....now sadly not... The staff are unaware of good service and they need a good manager who excels at service and keeping the kitchen on the ball. We used to go weekly...now never as time and time again it has been a huge disappointment. Wrong... More

Booked a table for Sunday evening as I was told Sunday roast would be on offer. My friend never had the choice to enjoy a sunday roast. We were told there was no Sunday roast in the evening... Only for lunch. I told the manager he should instruct his staff properly. We decided to go for rib eye steak. No... More
