Second visit to this establishment, first time to eat. Had lunch in bar area. Two bars and further restaurant area. Service top notch. Meal and condiments delivered to table by cheerful lady. Had the small portion of fish and chips; more than enough for me! Tartar sauce was very good. Cinema event advertised for later in September. Great place to... More

Came here after hearing rave reviews from friends, so we were excited to visit and enjoy their 'excellent food'. On entering, I was a little hesitant at first (slight smell coming from the toilets.. Perhaps a one off although it did put me off a little). However, shown to our table and looked at the menu and few specials on... More

We had a bar meal whilst staying in the Globe Inn. The range in the menu was very good and the quality of the food excellent. We thought the dessert rather pricey for such small portions. I have attached a few photographs.

A friendly and rather quirky looking pub, with cider that may make you fall over. When it comes to the food, I can highly recommend the Beef and Otter Ale Pie (not beef and otter pie, as I first read it). Home-made, with proper short-crust pastry (not a pretend pie with a puff pastry hat on). Excellent mashed potatoes, and... More

Proper pub with an eatery attached. Locals in both areas and service with a smile. Best of all, reasonably priced

We had a family meal at the Globe and the landlady squeezed us in as we hadn't booked. Food was good but the service, though friendly, did seem a bit Fawlty Towers. Fish and chips excellent. Would eat there again.

On recommendation had dinner at the Globe Inn. My wife had the vegetarian lasagna and I had the ale and beef stew. The wait took fairly long due to a malfunctioning cooking range as we were told. The food was quite OK, although the lasagna could have done with a more heartier cheese. Unfortunately my wife's ale was the last... More

Went there for an evening meal whilst staying locally. Went in with our dog to `snug` where landlord made all of us welcome. Good beer and excellent food. Recommended.

We had been told about this hotel by our host from our bed & breakfast that we were staying at & we weren't disappointed by their recommendation. Perfect, cosy & a lovely place to enjoy great food. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, the pleasant & helpful staff and just the relax feeling we felt during our time having a drink... More
