Very busy, always a good sign :)

We ate here both evenings during a visit to the area and whilst staying at the Inn. The food was freshly prepared by the very hardworking owner. There were very young inexperienced waitress staff on (think they were very new to the job) however service was good and polite. The food was lovely and... read more

We were two couple with two 22-months old babies. We sat in the bar area for a round of pints and crisps. We kept the little ones at the table, but obviously they wanted to wonder around to between the bar and the restaurant area. Yes, they probably ware a little noisy but believe me, i've seen a lot worse... More

We visited this pub over the Christmas period while staying in Buckfastleigh. The pubs location is excellent and overlooks the river and is only a 5 minute walk from Buckfast Abbey. The food was top notch and reasonably priced. Overall highly recommend!

First time to the Abbey Inn, and on a Sunday. Although we had not booked, which one must do by Friday to ensure a table, the staff allowed my friend and I to enjoy their carvery lunch. We did not feel rushed, and the food was great. I will definitely go again, and I will book ahead. Thanks to the staff... More

Nice ale on tap and outside area is lovely. Service is incredibly slow at best, but made up for with friendly staff. Just think about the next round before you finish your drink. Food reasonably priced, ok quality bit not amazing and took over an hour to arrive
