We went for a Sunday lunch. The carvery was £7.50 or £9.50 with desert. The roast was excellent, decent portions and well cooked. Nice deserts too. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did have young children with us and they supplied a high chair but it was an older customer base and didn't feel as though children were particularly... More

I have visited this pub on various occasions and each time I have been very warmly welcomed by the members of staff and the owners. The menu and specials board covers a good range of meals and I have always been looked after exceptionally well. The portions are very generous and you can always ask to change an item if... More

Myself and my husband recently stayed for a night in the 'Dart' room at the Abbey Inn. The landlord and landlady were both extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A short walk from the historic and quiet town of Buckfast and situated by a fantastic fast running river, it was nice to watch the scenery and wildlife whilst... More

We called in yesterday for lunch and will certainly return again next time we are in the area. Beautiful spot right beside the river where there were ducks and a heron on the water. We sat outside in the sun. Only wanted a light lunch and the 'light bites' were just what we wanted. The prawns in a lemon chili... More

So meeting up with an old school friend after 40 years and I need a decent hotel/restaurant in Buckfastleigh. The Abby Inn appealed to me especially after a conversation with the owner whilst booking my accommodation. Just off the A38 on the Buckfastleigh junction, The Abby Inn is on the way to the famous Buckfast Abby. Set on the river... More

The Sunday carvery was very good, usual choices, and cooked to our liking, and the side dishes were kept topped up with freshly cooked. There is a choice of "real" beers. We ate inside, as we hadn't booked, would have preferred outside with a wonderful view of the river. (Carvery only on Sundays) and only a short drive to the... More

Have not frequented the establishment too often but did pay it a visit last week and had a truly excellent meal in a stunning location. Top marks for service by the young waitresses and superb food with no complaints from anyone in our party, good choice and reasonable prices, and good beer, what more does anyone want? The bar staff... More

Lovely situation by the banks of the river dart this is a reasonable place to eat. The restaurant is a bit on the dark side and feels a bit tired so could do with a re-decoration but the food and service are above average. The meat was better than the fish.
