Good food, lovely setting

We had pre-dinner drinks outside by the river in a lovely setting then moved inside to dine as it was getting cooler. I had Hunter's Chicken and chips with salad, which was delicious, and my partner had a huge steak and ale pie with mash and veges. The meals were excellent and the traditional... read more

Great for sitting outside on a hot summers day. I really should go there more often and try all the food.

My wife and I visited recently to meet friends, at their suggestion. Weather was poor initially but cleared up during our meal, making the scenic situation at the riverside more appreciated. We had the Sunday carvery, which was a choice of beef, turkey or gammon and a good choice of tasty vegetables, which was delicious and well priced, with a... More

Down in Devon for a long weekend and staying near Tiverton we looked for somewhere to meet two friends who live in Brixham and happened upon this place which seemed about halfway between the two. Having seen some good reviews we booked a table for lunch and we're glad we'd done so since the place was packed and every table... More

What a lovely unspoilt place. Beautiful setting with a river running beside it. Lovely food, we had evening meal and breakfast (the sausages were gorgeous). The room was very clean and had lots of little extras to, hot chocolate, bottles of water, tissues to name a few. For me the little details mean a lot. Comfy, quiet room with lovely... More

When I stopped by here with my husband, we were made very welcome by Jake and Cecelia, the owners. The ales were kept beautifully; crystal clear and delicious. The food was delicious, and we were absolutely stuffed afterwards! A warm cozy fire was burning throughout the evening, the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. We shall definitely be stopping there again!
