It looks very smart and clean however the food was greasy, the portions were small, tasteless and expensive, and badly packed with the chips being squashed at the bottom of the bag. Definately won't be going back again! Chudleigh Chippy much much better and you actually feel welcome there!!

I'm not one usually to write reviews but felt I needed to in this case .I am used to good fish and chip shops in Paignton and used this one recently. The woman serving was chatty and friendly but the food was dreadful. The fish was watery and undercooked...the basics badly wrong and all this for nearly 8 quid 50% more than... Since I experienced the cod and chips from Bovey Fish Bar last week I've done nothing but fantasise obsessively about them. These were far and away the best fish and chips ever so whatever I say here isn't going to do them justice. While purchasing wasn't the friendliest service I've ever received I am happy to overlook the frosty air... More

This was the worst take away food that I've ever experienced. Ridiculously expensive, poor quality and appalling service The portion of fish was small even though it's sold as large, the chips were diabolical, they smelt horrid as if cooked in very old oil and they comprised of all the small off cuts, no decent sized chips This place won't... This chip shop used to be what you expected from a chip shop, nice food at an affordable price. Now it is bad food at a ridiculously high price. I will not eat from here again. Trying to make it something it's not

Fish was fine, batter looked pale and worn out, and price was high. Edible, but pricey! However, I think this is about the only local chippy locally, so if you fancy fish and chips, this is it!

Went with friends -had cod n chips scampi and chips and a sausage n chips for £38! Cannot fault the food was excellent , just not enough chips for a man, lemon wedges and tartare sauce a finishing touch and excellent coffee! The weather was humid which apparently made the floor like an ice rink even though it was amusing... More

We were staying close by in Bovey Tracey so popped out for one portion of cod (my husband doesn't eat fish) and a large chips to share. There was a May Day celebration going on in the town so the longish wait was acceptable. The chips were really fresh and crispy, but the fish (rather small) looked soggy and on... More

Stopped by the fish bar which we have used on many occasions. I reviewed over a year ago and thought it was very good. Since then however the portions have got smaller. I paid £5.50 for the cod and it was tiny. See picture uploaded separately It was tasty though. I also had chips (no problems there) and mushy peas.... More

It would appear that I am not the only customer to be disappointed by the supposed "large" portion of chips. I dread to think how meagre a normal portion is. (frowny face)
