The food and ambience is good although I think its a bit overpriced for what it is. At least I can take my dog in there.

This is a proper tea shop, and one thinks Miss Marple and aspidisras. Importantly, unlike many so-called "tea shops" these days, it happens to be open at tea time. In England, as every educated person knows, this is at 4 0'clock. The ambience is superb. Beautiful tapestries adorn the walls, period style furniture and even traditional style magazines and "Wind-in-the-Willows"... More

We are local to Dartmoor but sometimes the urge for cream tea is still overwhelming! My young son and I had met a friend in Ashburton when such an urge overcame us. Taylors looks lovely with a window full of cakes and beautiful dainty china in various patterns set out on the tables. It was a nice day so luckily... More

The window was displayed with glorious cake we couldn't resist. Staff provided a friendly welcome and we were showed to a table. We opted for the Ceylon leaf tea, which was an excellent choice. Fragrant and refreshing. Whilst not over-powering the tanning of this leaf tea left a pleasant after-taste in the mouth. There was a good choice of both... More

Looks very posh on the outside. The staff were short on numbers and one of the staff was 'under training' and was willing but didn't have a clue. Great selection of teas; served in individual teapots and in bone china cups. Lovely cakes; especially the Carrot Cake Lady at the table next to us was busy destroying the ambience by... More

I will keep this brief... - £7.20- Authentic Crusty Devon Pie and Salad with Devon Chutney. What arrived was a very small, shrivelled, stale pie with soft stale pastry. Salad had no dressing and was simple a pile of small green leaves and the chutney was clearly from a Jar. - £7 - Quiche. Pastry not cooked- soggy and unpleasant.... More

A real 'wow' when I entered, so very different to other T shops, with good service by friendly staff . Comfortable elegant surroundings, loved the use of vintage china, the antiques were an added interest without being 'over the top'. Unfortunately I didn't have time to indulge in the lovely home made cakes, looking forward to my next visit in... More

Found Tea at Taylors by chance and we were so lucky. On entering the tea rooms you go into a complete sense of tranquillity and relaxation. The service was excellent and with a good choice of teas and snacks we were in heaven. The party had several different dishes and every one enjoyed them. We guessed that they were all... More

Great, quiet atmosphere in elegant surroundings. Small menu but all very good and nicely presented. I have many friends who travel many miles just to go there.
