A real tea shop

A real tea shop. The service was very good and the staff pleasant.I had the cheese scone which was huge and very tasty. This came with two types of cream cheese which I thought was a very good idea. The tea was hot and delicious, the pot had been warmed which makes such a difference. Sitting near... read more

My wife went in to reserve a table as we had visitors coming to the town and we wanted the security of knowing we could get a table when they came. We like to share our business around the various eating establishments in the town. We live in Ashburton and have used this "hostelry" (hostilitry ?) before. We were told they... More

Just completely lovely time, we were in a rush, we just had an hour, service was brilliant, and we loved our waitress who was really busy, but still had time for a chat and a smile,

This was my second visit to the tea rooms. I love the vintage decor and China. It really feels like you are stepping back in time. They do a lovely selection of teas and cakes all served on vintage China. The tea is served in tea pots with extra hot water which is great. (I love tea! And lots of... More

Upon visiting thus quaint little place with a friend of mine, We were instantly welcomed by a very friendly waitress. Even in this bitter cold January, the place was warm and inviting; not to mention the gorgeous array of cakes at the front of the building that had tempted us in initially. The impressive selection of teas seemed almost daunting,... More

Lovely setting, restorative tea, delicious cake and great service, especially from the hot, blonde matriarchal lady in charge.

Surprised at the negative comments as I received super service however it was from an 'older' lady so that may be why. They offer a range of gluten free options including sandwiches, toast and some cakes. The other cakes all look divine however I opted for the gluten free cream tea which was delicious as was the tea I also... More
