Upon visiting thus quaint little place with a friend of mine, We were instantly welcomed by a very friendly waitress. Even in this bitter cold January, the place was warm and inviting; not to mention the gorgeous array of cakes at the front of the building that had tempted us in initially. The impressive selection of teas seemed almost daunting,... More

Lovely setting, restorative tea, delicious cake and great service, especially from the hot, blonde matriarchal lady in charge.

Used to be an Antique Shop and still has items on display/for sale. Very pleasant surroundings and atmosphere.

Surprised at the negative comments as I received super service however it was from an 'older' lady so that may be why. They offer a range of gluten free options including sandwiches, toast and some cakes. The other cakes all look divine however I opted for the gluten free cream tea which was delicious as was the tea I also... More

Really wanted to give this business 5 stars as there food is delicious but the service is awful, should of guessed it was after seeing tables of four with a reserved only for 3 people or more which meant couples were being shown to a outside area which is near the toilets and is cold and not inviting,Young Staff who really... Shop looks wonderful so we were tempted to go in but having paid over £3.00 for a cup of tea one would expect better service. Whilst I was still eating my cake the waitress removed my friends plate and as we were still finishing our tea the waitress then came and informed us that they were short staffed, members of... It was going to be a treat for my little.. We love our mother and daughter times... Yes it's pricey but if the service is there.. I don't mind.. Our waitress was so very rude.. The table sticky.. I asked for ice as the drinks were warm, so she picked up the glasses that we had already started drinking from,... More

This is the most beautiful setting for a restaurant specifically serving afternoon tea in good quality china cups and tea pots and with leaf tea, scones and clotted cream, cakes and various fancies, just how it used to be served. This is pure nostalgia and because of the idyllic setting it seems to taste that much better. There is very... More

The food and ambience is good although I think its a bit overpriced for what it is. At least I can take my dog in there.

This is a proper tea shop, and one thinks Miss Marple and aspidisras. Importantly, unlike many so-called "tea shops" these days, it happens to be open at tea time. In England, as every educated person knows, this is at 4 0'clock. The ambience is superb. Beautiful tapestries adorn the walls, period style furniture and even traditional style magazines and "Wind-in-the-Willows"... More
