good food and warm welcome, we love the Black Cat cafe. Beetroot cake is gorgeous, wish you opened more in the evening as Brixham restaurants just can't cook imaginatively without fish or meat it seems.

This small back street cafe is definitely overlooked in Brixham, but what a shame. I ate a meal there with my husband and daughter and it was lovely. The food was inventive and varied and delicious. The room to eat in is small but the food really does make up for the lack of space. If you love vegetarian food... More

This cafe has changed hands and is no longer vegetarian. However, I can honestly say it was the best goats cheese salad I have ever had.(this was vegetarian) Joanne, the new owner is very friendly and an outstanding cook. I would recommend trying it.

Yes, the Black Cat has changed hands very recently and is, alas, no longer the café it was. It is no longer vegetarian, though there are some vegetarian options on a rather limited menu of salads, sandwiches and toasties. The only desserts we could discern as being on offer were a range of waffles, but it turned out that non... More

Okay, this was probably one of the best meals out we have had as a family. Yes, the cafe is tiny but the food is awesome. Completely homemade, gorgeous offerings that were beautifully presented. The owner's mum, who was there that day, was so attentive and accommodating. We loved her, she made us feel incredibly welcome, she was ace! The... More

Discovered this lovely little cafe in a tiny side street. Their gluten free sticky banana and pecan cake is amazing!

Tucked down a little alley way it would be easy to miss The Black Cat Cafe amidst the fish and chip takeaways of Brixham Harbour. We are so glad we popped in after spotting the sign on the final day of our holidays and enjoyed a relaxing, delicious lunch. If you're looking for something a little different, then this cafe... We visited based on the Trip Advisor ranking of #1 in Brixham. Instantly surprised that a café so small can make any profit. Outside of the scope of the review, but very funny (demonstrating the "cosy" café), a rather pretentious party (mum speaking alternating French & English to the children loud enough to appreciate the gutturals in full glory) had... We pop in to the Black cat to buy gluten free take away red velvet brownies which I pretend to my friends and family I have made myself! Other than that they are great for a great elevensies, snack lunch or scone or cake tea. Everything is properly home made so the portions are generous and tasty and the tea... More
