Firstly I am local and consider this place a treat to visit for lunch. Bearing in mind it is a Hotel the meal prices could compare with some café's. The Sea food platter is a must for lovers of sea food. And I am sorry I cannot tell you how good the rest of the food is as I never... More

Stopped off here for lunch with family whilst on a trek round Berry Head. Restaurant was nice and clean, staff friendly and attentive. Lunch menu was reasonably priced and quite varied. We plumped for the cheese platter and a fish platter, including crab, prawns and smoked mackerel. Both come with home made dips and warm bread and both were delicious.... More

We had Sunday lunch paid for with vouchers which the hotel had sent us after we complained about the previous meal. I have to say that the whole experience was a much better, the roast meat was first class , my only complaint was that the sprouts were cooked from frozen. The staff were very attentive nothing was too much... More

Came here for a Sunday carvery in the Mulberry Room with some friends. This is a unique place - it is not your modern minimalist style hotel inside (though it does have some modern features) and in some respects it is very quaint inside - what I would call "homely" - but considering it used to be the Vicarage of... I booked a table for 6pm on Saturday by phone call at noon on same day.I asked specifically for a table by the window, which would also be well lit after dark, as we had a partially sighted friend with us. I was told this would be ok. On arriving, just before 6, we were first greeted by a sarcastic... More

Booked a table for three prior to our visit, as we wanted to eat somewhere special, and the website/menu looked good. The owners of the B&B we stayed at (Trefoil - very good) said that they had eaten there and confirmed that it was good, but that if there is a function on, then the service is somewhat lacking. We... The food was fine but nothing special. The service in the bistro was, however, very good. It was attentive without being too formal. This contributed to a pleasant evening meal with friends as we caught up with news.

Went out there for a Monday lunch for an anniversary, and the food was up to the crap standard as normal, to begin with I had a tomato & basil soup which was very over seasoned (almost to the point of vindaloo flavoured) , when complained about the problem I was told the it was seasoned differently and no else... We were staying locally for the week and wanted an evening of fine dining. We were ate in the Bonaparte resteraunt and were not dissapointed. Fabulous 4 course meal which including drinks each came in under £70. Menu provided good choice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. What really seals the deal though is the view across torbay... More
