I will be positive first. The food was gorgeous. A basic pub menu in a tiny pub on the harbour so to be honest so we weren't expecting anything too special. The hubby had "catch of the day" fish and chips and I had scampi and chips. Both were just beautiful, very fresh and lots of it. My hubby said... More

We visited this pub on a Monday evening, during our recent holiday in Brixham. It was about 5.30pm and we just wanted a drink to celebrate the beginning of our holiday. The pub looks very appealing from the outside and is fairly centrally located close to the harbour. This really is all that is good about it. The inside is... More

Enjoyed really nice lunch here at the weekend with family - and more importantly the dog! Doggie friendly pub just steps away from the harbour. We hope to return whilst in the area!

I booked a table for six prior to going to Brixham for the Pirate festival. During the booking I informed the person on the other end of the phone that it was 2 adults and 4 children and explained how I was booking lunches and evening meals at various pubs and restaurants due to the expected crowds and not wishing... As has been stated in a number of previous reviews the pub is tot; unsuitable for small children, and as such has a rule of no under 10s. There is a large sign on entrance to the pub and when we take bookings we check there are no children in the party. If this was not comunicated to you at... More

We visited the Blue Anchor in Brixham on Sunday 27th April - there was a Beer and Blues Festival going on. Keith Christmas played a fab acoustic set whilst we ate a really, really super roast lunch. Great service and great cooking. Can thoroughly recommend. Have all 3 of the roast meats on offer - beef, lamb and pork. The... More

A magical little pub tucked just back from the harbour with a wealth of marine ephemera on the walls. A nice little restaurant serving some excellent food at very good prices

Very friendly chef, good range of food on the menu, not just the usual pub lasagne & chips. Nice atmosphere and dog friendly.

We had to visit Brixham and we were drawn to our favourite pub for lunch, as we were early we had coffee, which was excellent, we were very pleased to note the carpet in the bar had been replaced. Sadly the menu did not include the smaller meals, it was once renowned for, and although their meals are excellent, we... More

Its been two years since I last found myself in Brixham for a week, and the Blue Anchor is as good as ever. Lovely friendly welcome, in what is obviously a great pub with a roaring local trade (just as well as we were visiting in January and Brixham was quiet!). The fact that we came in several times through... More

A lovely pub full of local characters most of whom like to engage in conversation with the visitors making this a memorable drinking hole. Fish and chips very nice too.
