Came across this delightful bistro after searching online for somewhere to eat in Brixham that served freshly caught / cooked fish and shellfish, that didn't just come in batter! We were not disappointed. The prawns, mussels and crab were amazing, served in huge portions, deliciously piping hot. The food could not be faulted. Add to this, fabulous, friendly service and... We visited on a Tuesday evening in the first week of August. It was chucking it down with rain and we parked by the fish market so we walked around the harbour. Brixham was a lovely place and quiet due to the weather. We had not booked and were lucky to get a table upstairs as the place was packed.... More

Stumbled across this great bistro by accident on the last day of our break. A family of five adults, two teens, three under 8 & a baby. Heading home after a day at Torquay & on the look out for something to eat & we decided to try Brixham as we hadn't visited before. We were just heading to a... More

The Breakwater came highly recommended to us in rain or shine - and I would pass on the very same recommendation to anyone else. First visit was for breakfast in the sunshine outside; we were promptly seated, bowl of water for the dog, and an excellent fry up for all six of us - one request for another wipe over... More

8 of us went during our holiday. From outside it doesn't look much, more an ice cream parlour but don't be fooled. The fish dishes were exceptional. The mussels and the sauce one of the best we had. Tried to go back but it was full. Worth a visit!

I have so often been annoyed with cafe's, bars, and restaurants that have wonderful views so are not bothered about the quality of food they serve. The Breakwater Bistro does not fall into this category and we were really pleased with the food we ordered. Service was a little slow but considering it was a hot day during peak season... More

We learnt from last year that you should always check that you have booked a table at the restaurants in brixham because many can be very busy during the holidays. We always book when coming to the breakwater. The food was lovely as usual. We had mussels with chips and they were the biggest mussels you will have ever had.... More

We loved this restaurant so much that we have been twice whilst on our stay in Brixham. My mussels were to die for the seafood paella is something else. Kids loved the ribs followed by chocolate fondue! Definitely worth a vist.

Fabulous shabby chic restaurant with views to die for. Staff were attentive and friendly. We went in with family and friends over three nights and everyone's meals were perfect. Would recommend the seafood trip, steak, fish and chips and moules!
