When we visited mid-week in July, the restaurant was packed by 7 pm!! Good fresh fish and chips and nice crispy batter. The chips could have been cooked a bit longer - but supply and demand!! Everyone had a good time - and service was smiling and efficient. Looks like a new, larger restaurant may be opening across the road?

Need i say more. The best F&Cs you could wish for. Great value. The curry sauce is well worth an order too. Wish I didn't live so far away (although my waistline is pleased)

The fish was amazing, really beautiful, but the chips were like they were frozen. Shame. You can tell when you go to a fish and chip shop if the chips are made on site. They would normally be really tasty etc, but you could tell these were frozen ones. We were really disappointed. They were tasteless and were just like... More

We have visited this restaurant several times over a few years when we holiday in North Devon . It never disappoints us. It is always busy and has generous portions, in a clean and attractive environment. Prices have increased slightly in the last few years but hey hasn't everything!!! Tonight we were in a family party of ten...excellent service by... More

Squires was highly recommended to us and it certainly did not disappoint. You can't book a table which is a shame as it so busy but that was not a problem as we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. In fairness it is busy as it is so good. Food was plentiful and price wise 5 of us ate... More

Excellent fish and chips and mushy peas, generous portions and good service. Attractive and central restaurant.

The fish and chips by themselves are fantastic place let down by the fact that there are no starters and the cheese cake i had for dessert was really quite horrible

Have eaten here many times and every time the food is good quality. There is also a fish shop attached to the restaurant and the food is exactly the same. There is an upstairs eating area too and even though it always seems to be busy we have never had to wait for a table. There is a good selection... More

We had heard a lot about this place but after the initial long wait, due to the popularity, I have to say I have never tasted fish and chips like it. The gravy tasted like a sunday roast gravy and was delicious. The batter melted in the mouth and was the lightest I had encountered. The ordering was good. The... More

We are regular visitors to the area for many years and always visit the shop for fish and chips and recommend it to our colleagues but sadly on two visits to the shop on a recent holiday the food just totally disappointing. The chips on both of our visits were awful they were like card bored and tasteless really dry... More
