Comprehensive and excellent menu, it's simple pub food, but done very well. A range of real ales and the staff are all very friendly. Do need to book a table if there's a rugby international. Clientele are generally more mature professionals. A pub for beer drinkers.

A great atmosphere. But.... not sure about the beer - the barrel had just been changed when we ordered a pint. Not sure the pipes were cleared through sufficiently before our pint was served.

Thank you for posting your review on tripadvisor, I am pleased that you enjoyed the atmosphere, but disappointed that the beer didn't reach our usual high standards. I apologise and can offer no excuse! As 6 times winner of Camra Guernsey Pub of The Year award, we do try to ensure the perfect pint every time. I am sorry that... More

We really do have to recommend this Free-house pub/eatery very highly. It’s one of those cosy ‘pubby’ places where you immediately feel comfortable and don’t have to get dressed up to the nines. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome from Steve the barman and Richard the proprietor as soon as we stepped through the door. The guys were... More

This is a good real ale pub with usually 3 real ales including the local Liberation ale. It has sky TV for sports lovers. Its best points are its friendliness and hospitality, and its superb menu. As well as the good standard menu there is an excellent specials board with a choice of several extra dishes. There are lots of... More

The Cafe/pub was friendly and answered questions we asked with knowledge and interest in what we were asking. The food we had was crisp and clean, the service was good and effective. A normal and reasonable quality at a good price,

When I visited guernsey I asked around for the best place for real ale and real food, everybody I asked said the cornerstone was the place to go. When I walked in I was greeted with a warm friendly welcome from the staff and the regulars, The ale selection was really good too, a local ale a session beer and... More

Have been calling in here since our first visit in 2008. The beer is always good with a choice of local and "English" beers. The food is also substantial and of top quality. The staff are always "fun" to talk with. Had a lamb shank with mash and veg this time. The lamb was perfect and large with lovely mash. My... More

Good old fashioned pub grub, and the beer is also well kept. A good place to go if you want decent food, decent value and decent portions.

Visiting from the UK for Guernsey v Hertford rugby, we decamped to the Cornerstone after the game and were delighted we had. The beer was well kept and we received a very warm welcome from the Patron and his staff. There were plenty of screens on which to view the Heineken Cup games over several pints before we wandered off... More
