Birthday dinner at the restaurant for a table of six. It is intimate and carefully lit room, no staff were present when we arrived and we had to go and find someone. Took almost an hour from sitting until the first course arrived, but we were served popudoms not long after we sat down and there were only only 2... More

This a different experience to traditional UK curry restaurants. Situated in Old Government House hotel, we were offered a very limited set price menu, which, in the main was very tasty. The food was very well presented in a tiny room, maximum about 20 diners. The decor seemed designed to take the guest back to the days of the empire... More

It was good to be on an Indian restaurant that did not offer a menu with about a hundred curries on offer using the usual suspects as sauces. We chose the 'Wine Flight '(?) which really made the whole experience memorable with each course accompanied by a suitable wine. The Sommelier /Bar Man looked after us very well introducing and describing... Excellent meal. Not to too hot. Friendly staff but empty when we were there. And I don't think it is often full. Pricy - over £100 for 2

First, this is not an Indian Restaurant as you know it. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and not signposted from outside. It has a small menu, but all the food is excellent. We went for the £30, three course option. All the food is beautifully cooked and superbly presented in very pleasant surroundings. Ths Indian rice pudding was... More

When we walked into the restaurant, which us part of the Old Governor's House Hotel there was no-one there! After a few minutes a friendly waiter turned up, made us welcome and tried to explain (most hotel and restaurant staff on Guernsey are Eastern European and speak English as a second language)) that all the electric light was going to... I cannot recommend this place enough. We went on a quiet evening and had the waiter all to ourselves for most of the meal (it started getting busy as we were ready to leave) and the service was by far the best I have ever received. The food came quickly, was fresh, and tasty. We would have paid the same... More

Years ago I used to work in Indian restaurant and I know that Indian food can be a little too much for your stomach sometimes! But at OGH Curry room the food is amazing. Excellent service, great atmosphere, perfectly portioned plates - yummy, yummy, yummy. Will go back for sure

This is the second time I've been to the wonderful Curry Room at the OGH. The room itself, which has had a couple of makeovers over the years, is a wonderful, intimate setting and the food is a big step up from the previously somewhat mis-named 'fine dining' restaurant. The menu is narrow (three choices per course) but is changed... More
