Le Chalet is now closed, it has been purchased by the owners of the Fermain Valley Hotel, which is only a hundred meters away. It will be a good hotel, I have no doubt, once the refurbishment has been done. I do not have a time scale, but as this is now October 2013, I doubt whether it will be... More

Rather brightly lit, unexciting menu, food was at best average.

We went to Le Chalet for Sunday lunch and were delighted by the location: perched on a hill, surrounded by woods, it offers lovely views over Fermain Bay, 10 minutes'walk. The staff was friendly and the food was good, fresh but very simply presented. As for the desserts, we never managed to find out what they really were as the... More

The friendly service and value for money Sunday lunches make this a favourite location. In the Summer months they have a cold buffet in addition to the usual choice of roasts. The staff are friendly and helpfull, and on a warm day you can eat on the terrace. The decor is due for a much needed upgrade in the next... More

Now under new management it has improved vastly since our previous visit 2 years ago. The General Manager is very hands-on and the staff are most helpful. The restaurant is good but not excellent and the service fine. The location with fine weather is both beautiful and tranquil. Will definately return soon.

We had dinner (party of 9) that night and received little attention while experiencing enormous waiting times. Although the restaurant was only 50% occupied and the outside Café/Bar had little traffic, there was obviously a lack of staff in addition to the people on duty not being trained well. The kitchen seemed to have issues with timing, resulting in the... More

Sunday lunch at Le Chalet used to be a sumptuous affair under the previous owners the Sarnia Group and you had to book a table to ensure a place. Unfortunately we had lunch there on 26th July 2009 and it was very disappointing. We hadn't booked and were able to have a table outside, this should have warned us that... More

Having stayed at Le Chalet on a number of occasions, including celebrating a milestone birthday there with 15 friends I can only say that it is excellent. It is run by the General Manager and his two partners who have had a number of hotels in Guernsey with his hand picked staff, some of whom are from the continent. The... More
