The board outside this well placed cafe promised Jersey Cream teas but the experience inside was a great disappointment. Grey weak tea, a round object that was supposed to be a scone but looked pale, uninteresting and had a strange soft texture. The tables were dirty and the staff disinterested, in fact one was on the telephone planing a holiday!... More

Went for light lunch but cakes were irresistible. Try the chocolate fudge cake and the soup/sandwich combo.

After visisiting the Gorey castle, we had lunch here. I had soup and crab sandwich combo and my wife had haggis. We both enjoyed the food very much and recommend those dishes. For children, there was very little to offer and the waitress/owner (?) was not really interested in working on that either. However, all together good local food experience... More

when we walked into the coffee was okay, enjoyed the wonderful crab, but not like the way he spoke to the cook with a lot of stress. It was not fair Mrs. Luise was doing with the cook but otherwise everything was fine. It was very good hope to return soon enjoyed the lunch was wonderful. Thank you Andy.

One grumpy/distracted waitress eventually took our order, the result was a mundane scone. There was a sign saying that service was not included and nor should it have been as there wasn't any. Though don't get me wrong, the oddness did add some aspect of charm. The view is excellent.

Worst cream tea we have had. Scones were dry and the cream was whipped suspect it was whipping cream and not double, there was barely enough cream for half a scone. Lemon polenta cake was gritty and did not taste of lemon at all. Tea was weak but plentiful. Very disappointing

This humble little cafe lies at the bottom of Gorey Castle, over looking the quaint little harbour at the east of the Island. My family and I stopped by early one afternoon for a spot of lunch. We were quite hungry after exploring the castle (and it's many many steps) so opted to go to this small, yet very busy... More

Went to cafe Louise in Gorey every time we visit and true it's small and simple but this time it was pretty dirty. The tables hadn't been wiped down in between customers and the place was full of flies with no attempt to get rid of them. I know it's difficult in high summer but hello there is such a... More

In a great location at the foot of mont orgueil castle but it doesn't make best use of this on two levels 1) food 2) service. Apparently it is table service, which it doesn't tell you on the outside. You have to go in to be told in a tone that makes you feel like a naughty schoolboy. My wife... More

Had a cream tea which was the worst we have ever eaten. The scones were dry, tasteless and must have been full of additives as they gave us dreadul indigestion. We are amazed that other reviewers found them to be delicious - maybe they need to try some proper home-made ones? They tasted like they had been made from a... More
