My boyfriend and I ate here a few weeks back on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, it wasn't very busy when we arrived, and after waiting to be served for more than 10 minutes I went inside to try and order a drink, I was advised then that someone would be over to take the order, another ten minute wait until... Dear Kitty-kitkat, Thank you very much for taking the time to post a review. I am very sorry that you did not feel that our service levels did not meet your expectations. As you mentioned that you ordered moules I think I am right in saying that your initial meal with us was in June or perhaps early July as... More

I had heard good reviews of this restaurant and things started well with attentive and friendly staff.I started with broccoli and stilton soup which required considerable salt and pepper to give it some flavour.I cannot believe how some chefs can send out a soup without checking it first. My main dish was duck confit with bean crock and baby carrots. The bean... Each time we visit Jersey we head for this super restaurant, turned up one hot evening without a reservation to be told only seating was inside, Ugh, but the manager came out and within a minute a table was brought out from inside the restaurant and laid up for us. Don't you just love people (who can do) Food as... More

Hi inclineski, Thank you very much for the great review. I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that you come back year after year. We're used to seeing familiar faces, but it's always especially nice to think that we've made such an impression on someone's holiday that we're on their 'to visit' list when they come back. I do agree, nobody wants to... More

Hi Sean M, Thank you very much for taking the time to post this great review! I'm really glad to see that you enjoyed your Ploughmans Board. My favourite parts are definitely the chicken liver parfait, the pork pie and the Scotch hens egg too, particularly as they are all home-made which is a rare occurrence outside of a high... More

Booking couldn't have been any easier. Did it on line on the same day based on previous reviews. Great location. From the moment we stepped in we were made to feel welcome. Sat outside which was lovely. Food was first class especially the seafood. Prices are not cheap but not expensive neither for the quality of the food. Staff were... More

Very warm July evening and they had their outsides eating deployed to best advantage. A good crowd of customers eating outside. Staff cheerful and attentive and the meal very very good. Duck egg salad with black pudding terrific and sea bream special lovely. Round off with an unusual but very good tarte tatin and we were very pleased eaters.

Hi John73_11 First and foremost thank you very much for taking the time to write a review. I'm very happy that our terrace was to your liking and that you got to take advantage of it. We've been really lucky with the weather this year so following a slight re-furb (that we're still in the process of doing!) it's naturally... More

Situated next too the Jersey museum. This restaurant has a great table seating outside. Service was good. Foot was brilliant, platter boards are worthwhile. Fish is fresh, caught that morning by the good old Jersey fisherman. Salads are fresh. All round food is great and healthy. Great hangout.

We had dinner on Wednesday 2nd. July & the restaurant was quiet ( however, the following two evenings were fully booked). Food & wine were fine but the service left something to be desired. Not sure what it would be like when they're busy. Looking at the other reviews it does seem that slow service is a common theme ---... More

This is a non-review really! After 20 minutes of non-service from the staff, we voted with our feet. (The upside was that we walked across the square and had a very good carvery at The Pomme D'Or...with staff who understood what customer service meant).

Dear Krefelder, Many thanks for your feedback and for letting us know of your bad experience. I cannot apologise enough for having missed you at the bottom of the terrace. We ate in the courtyard and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The food was very fresh, with great vegetarian choices, and the service was exceptional (even by Jersey standards). i chose the vegetarian board which included a really tangy goat’s cheese, a butter bean "houmous" and marinated vegetables. The portion size was generous and my only quibble is with the ongoing obsession... More
