Went for our Christmas party and had a great meal. I had crayfish & crab starter followed by duck and it was fantastic. My only complaint and it's a small one, was the lack of vegetables. Only two green beans!! Other than that I would definitely go back again.

After visiting the Jersey Museum and meeting the finders of the Celtic coin hoard which is being conserved "live" we had a lovely lunch in the attached Merchant House brasserie. Service was great and food delicious.

Dear TomSaintsRL, Thank you very much indeed for your fantastic review. I'll let our head chef Dan and the restaurant team know that you enjoyed your meal with us. I can't help but agree that dropping by for a bite or a coffee and a cake is nice end to seeing such an amazing exhibit. They say that they still... More

Went for dinner and took advantage of the Tennerfest menu (we hadn't booked, but got the last free table - what timing!). Fab, inventive menu - neither of us could fault our choices. Our waiter was great, very attentive, but not overly so, and quite happy to have a proper conversation with us. If we return to Jersey, we will... More

Dear Houli 2, Thank you very much for your amazing review. I'm very happy that you managed to take advantage of our Tennerfest Menu. There's nothing quite like a great meal at a reasonable price so I'm glad you enjoyed ours! I'll be sure to pass your kind comments onto the kitchen and restaurant teams and otherwise when you are... My partner & I eat here about once a month and have never been disappointed. The food is always great-well cooked and well presented-and the staff are superb. We are treated like one of the family now and they even know which wine to get out of the cooler when we arrive. Never any problems and definitely no complaints. We... More

Dear Fastcarfan, Thank you very much indeed for your great review. I'm very happy to see that you enjoy the food and the service. If you haven't already tried it we've just changed the Tennerfest menu which I'm sure that you'll love. I absolutely love it and my diet is suffering as a result but it's all in the name... More

Went in for lunch after visiting the museum, which it is next door to. The 'tennerfest' menu looked very tempting and attractive, (especially some of the puddings, which looked very unusual and interesting) but we both decided against it because neither of us could manage two courses at that particular time. We both wanted something lighter and both went for... More

Dear Trishmw, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your great review. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed your meals with us. I too am a big fan of the mushroom rarebit and all of the sandwiches for that matter. If it interests you should definitely try our Slaney Farm Sirloin Ciabatta. It's divine! You... More

Having chosen the "Tennerfest" menu, we were expecting small portions etc. Not so, fantastic quality and quantity of food at £15-00 for a starter and Main, how can they produce such quality at the price. Incredible. Will be going back very soon.

Dear Richard I, Thank you very much indeed for such a great review. Usually Gavin replies to the Tripadvisor comments but on this occasion I asked if he would mind if I did. I can't tell you how happy I am that you enjoyed our Tennerfest menu. The secret to how we can produce such great food at such a... More

Sought out this restaurant from the good reviews. Everything lived up its previous recommendations. Great location, atmosphere and service. Decided to have the fish of the day on a bed of carrots and potatoes. All very tasty and all but not having starters the main meal was a bit scarce .Hardly any potatoes. So left feeling hungry as I don't... More

I went on day 1 of the 2014 Tennerfest. I have eaten at Merchant house before and always enjoyed good food. The Merchant House Tennerfest menu looked good in advance online and in the newspaper supplement. We enjoyed a warm greeting. We had been to take a look at the Jersey Hoard in the Museum and as we walked out through the Brasserie we thought what a nice setting and stopped for an impromptu lunch. What an excellent decision ! Great food and the service was friendly and impeccable

Came across Merchant House by strolling not by intent but what a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Sat outside on the terrace, good weather obviously helped, staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. Dear DaveOnHisHols, Wow, what a great review! I 'm thrilled to hear that both you and your wife enjoyed your meal with us. It is true that when the weather permits, dining out on the terrace adds a little 'je ne sais quoi' but the warm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere inside is also perfect for those not so warm nights....
