Very warm July evening and they had their outsides eating deployed to best advantage. A good crowd of customers eating outside. Staff cheerful and attentive and the meal very very good. Duck egg salad with black pudding terrific and sea bream special lovely. Round off with an unusual but very good tarte tatin and we were very pleased eaters.

Situated next too the Jersey museum. This restaurant has a great table seating outside. Service was good. Foot was brilliant, platter boards are worthwhile. Fish is fresh, caught that morning by the good old Jersey fisherman. Salads are fresh. All round food is great and healthy. Great hangout.

We had dinner on Wednesday 2nd. July & the restaurant was quiet ( however, the following two evenings were fully booked). Food & wine were fine but the service left something to be desired. Not sure what it would be like when they're busy. Looking at the other reviews it does seem that slow service is a common theme ---... More

This is a non-review really! After 20 minutes of non-service from the staff, we voted with our feet. (The upside was that we walked across the square and had a very good carvery at The Pomme D'Or...with staff who understood what customer service meant).

We ate in the courtyard and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The food was very fresh, with great vegetarian choices, and the service was exceptional (even by Jersey standards). i chose the vegetarian board which included a really tangy goat’s cheese, a butter bean "houmous" and marinated vegetables. The portion size was generous and my only quibble is with the ongoing obsession... More

I came here with a friend and we had the £14.95 2 course lunch before we ordered our food there was no sign of staff to take a drinks order so I went inside to order and ask for a menu!! I then had to go back inside to order the food which I found rather annoying they served other... More

I ate in the Merchant house with friends on a short break to jersey and we had the most pleasant of evenings, made by the excellent staff. Our waiter was knowledgable and attentive, explaining, the beers and wines on available and the provenance of the meals on offer, both from the menu and the specials board. He strongly recommended the... More

We booked a table but found it had been reserved for us outside. It was a nice evening but there was too much noise and too many smokers outside. Fortunately there were plenty of tables available inside and I am glad we changed. The food was of a very high standard although some of the dishes seemed very complicated. Service... More

The gentleman at the desk of the Jersey Museum suggested that for a late lunch we could pay a visit at their Brasserie. It was the best meal we had in Jersey. The menu is designed to please most if not all tastes. The cold platters were superb and generous. The service brilliant..

Recently had lunch here - Food was all excellent and the location is lovely (sitting outside in the summer overlooking the square). However the service is quite slow, and therefore not ideal if you are aiming for a quick lunch. One of my colleagues had to leave before he even got his food!
