Do vegetarians expect less?

I went to the Corbiere Phare for Sunday lunch with a couple of friends who are meat eaters, which I am not. There was a fixed price menu (c.£22) which offered a very limited choice for a vegetarian (just one main course). First time to eat here, even though lived in jersey for over 20 years! Food and service was excellent and the view was stunning. Espetadas were mouthwatering and very generous portions.

We have visited this restaurant several times - there is no finer view from a window table anywhere on the island, come rain or shine. Generally the welcome is warm from some efficient and friendly staff. However, we were disappointed on Boxing Day this year. The price for three courses had risen steeply from £18pp to £27pp, fair enough I... More

The Corbiere Phare manager seemed to take great pride announcing that they don't publish trading hours, thereby allowing them to open and close the place at will. This is regardless of whether there are customers in there or not. Don't bother going there to enjoy the facilities or hoping to watch any sport on the TV as it's likely you'll... More

We hired a taxi to take us to the hot spots on the west coast. We called in to Corbiere Phare for a drink leaving the taxi waiting. Once inside we discovered a lovely fire, beautiful bar area and comfy seats. We decided to have some snacks with our drink so mentioned we had a taxi waiting so needed 'fast'... More

The food was fine - but not dish was a stand-out. This was a tennerfest dinner menu, so it was reasonable value. The best dish was the pate with accompaniments. The steaks (requested to be rare) were more medium than rare, but I guess this is because it was thin steak, so very difficult to do it rare. The service... More

For a tennerfest menu and experience, this place was very nice, The two reasons I have not awarded five stars, is that A. I honestly feelThat the restaurant is too big, too many covers. Making it noisy and the lack of feeling of intimacy B. One of the customer facing staff members although very friendly, could not Understand a simple... More

I had The Tennerfest lunch menu - tennerfest is a special food event celebrated in October where you can eat in terrific restaurants at a set rate. It was a spur of the moment decision and WOW was i glad i stepped inside. I have eaten here before on other visits to Jersey usually with my family and we all... More
