Lucky find

We stumbled on this shop/cafe whilst passing through Glendalough and were very happy that we did. The choice of salads and special of the day which my husband sampled were really lovely. My son had a huge sandwich that kept him quiet for most of the day- good result! We didn't find any problems at... read more

There is a logical reason why the Glenalough Green is busy and filled with cyclists every weekend, and it's not all location. Simply stated, the sisters who own the place (Clodagh and Phillipa, and sometimes Katy) are great cooks who make everything themselves and they treat their customers well. We went in for coffee and cake one day and soup... More

Nice cakes and fine coffee, not a bad place to sit in on a cold day. It over looks the millennium time capsule on the green.

This is a must see if you're coming to Laragh! Upon arriving there is always a warm greeting from all the wonderful women working. The salads, soup and sandwiches are all equally delicious. This is a real gem!

I've tried this place a good few times over the years and just find the older staff always unpleasant and unfriendly. Cyclists provide fantastic business to it but anyone I know who has used it has never had too nice an experience there. Food is fine, nothing special but some pleasantness would go a long way to improving the overall... More

Great coffee and great cakes - perfect for cyclists. Located in Laragh village at the junction of the Dublin road and the military road to Sally Gap and also handy for Wicklow Gap as well as the climb to Shay Elliott's memorial, this relaxed cafe impressed with its excellent coffee and wide choice of delicious cakes, even a dairy-free spiced... A good section of soups, sandwiches -- we stopped in on our way over to Glendalough -- and enjoyed the comfortable informal atmosphere... Not a place for the pretentious or demanding customer...

Clodagh's is a perfect place to begin or end a walk in Glendalough. The coffee is good and the home made cakes are superb. The carrot cake is particularly good but the lemon cake and a variety of brownies are also excellent. Home made sandwiches are available to eat in or take hiking and there is generally a stew on... The place needs tidying...and probably cleaning...surrounded by stacks of boxes, cramped racks of wholefood and...well, supplies and other stuff lying around and a strange fusty smell like old grain, had soup which was warm but needed seasoning, my wife had a a sandwich...I think with the drinks came to just under 20 euros....some locals were also saying it was a... What looks like a family run business the staff have a serious attitude problem. Taking our lunch order seemed like a chore for them. Food served in house on plastic plate with plastic cutlery and take away cup for coffee. Bread tough and several days old. However a great location with little competition so I'd imagine they'll continue to trade... More
