After a fair few disappointing meals so far on my Ireland trip I was amazed by the quality of the food and the service at the Wicklow Heather. After receiving a complimentary chauffer driven car from our B&B (Trooperstown Woodlodge) to the restaurant we were promptly seated and within 5 minutes our drink orders were taken. It took a little... More

While on a pilgrimage, was fortunate to have a couple of dinners at the inviting Wicklow Heather. Lovely ambiance, attentive wait staff, good food with plenty of choices. The owner was even kind enough to pick us up and deliver us back to our B & B. The staff made us feel most welcome.

I've stayed here twice now, it is such a lovely place and the staff are great. We arrived a lot earlier than planned as we had to switch to a different ferry. On arrival we called and someone came down to let us in even though they weren't actually open, they brought us some tea and made us feel very... More

Following an unexpected motorcycle day trip around Wicklow , we stopped at the Wicklow Heather for a leisurely lunch, event though it was a hot sunny day, we opted for lunch inside rather than in the outdoor areas. We were greeted with a genuine welcome, and seated quickly. There was a wide selection to chose from, and the pricing was... More

We happened on this restaurant while walking the Wicklow Way. Its rather twee name does make sound a little like a tea room, bur I can honestly say it was the finest restaurant we encountered on our 8 day walk. It's fun, buzzy and on a busy evening, both service and food were terrific, with a good bar and wine... More

Hi , we turned up here after a few hours driving on a late Sunday afternoon (430pm) .Our party of three , with one on crutches, had a table within ten minutes. The place was busy , with a constant stream of people leaving and entering .It has 3 areas to eat in - it probably was an old farm... More

We've visited this restaurant a number of times over about 8 years, when we've been to Glendalough (it's just at the entrance to the valley), most recently in September 2014 for a late lunch. That's one of the nice things about it - flexible hours, so that when your 3-hour trek turns out to be 5 there's still a good... More

The Wicklow Heather serves good food. It has a very pleasing ambiance. The staff are attentive and efficient and the place has an excellent variety on the menu all cooked extremely well and well proportioned. It has a decent wine list as well as a full bar licence. Price wise it is middle of the road and given the quality... More
