I had a memorable Sunday lunch here 19 years ago, and when I was invited to join a party at the Bistro I was really looking forward to that. When the order was taken I said to the server, I would have liked the cod with chips, but did not want the mushy peas, so I decided on an alternative.... More

This restaurant is a gem and well worth a visit. Very near a Dart station and very accessible. Choice of specials included crab & avocado salad on top of a varied menu. Delicious Hake main course and chocolate brownie for desert. Lunch for 3, 2 glasses of wine and coffee incl service €127. Quirky decor and friendly service.

Dear Yvonne123456789, Just a short note of sincere appreciation for your very nice review of our restaurant yesterday. We were delighted to hear of your positive feedback re: the variety on the menu as it is a new menu which started a couple of weeks ago. Visited the restaurant upstairs part here recently after a great visit before to the bistro. They have a slightly bigger menu than the bistro with a good range of fresh fish and meat. Dover Sole for me and a trio of pork (fillet, belly and loin) for herself which were both beautifully served. Yumm. After sharing a Creme brûlée and a... More

Dear ChristopherB, Just a word of sincere thanks for your recent kind review of the "upstairs" restaurant. We visited this restaurant as result of Trip Advisor recommendation. We were pleased that we were given a table even though we hadn't booked and it was very busy. We were politely told that we had a limited time, 1.5 hours, but that was fine in the circumstances. The decor is very cosy and quirky, themed around the name. Menu... More

Myself and my partner visited here recently after a really enjoyable walk from Bray along the Cliff. We chose this restaurant after some locals told us it was the best in town and it didn't disappoint. It was a Sunday and packed with happy diners. We both had the Beef which was mouth watering and the best "Yorkshire puddings" ever!!!... More

I hadn't been to The Hungry Monk for several years and don't really recall how it was when I was last there. My family and I decided to go yesterday to celebrate my brother's fortieth birthday, there were 10 of us altogether. From the moment we walked in it was great, completely following the monk theme with the darkness, the... More
