Nice restaurant and reasonable prices (for Ireland)

We visted this restaurant last weekend. It is located near the DART station (you should turn right, cross the street and walk 1 minute). It was quite busy, but we got a table. We ordered black pudding as a starter and seafood risotto and steak as mains. Black pudding was nice warm and tasty and... read more

On reading an excellent newspaper review of this place we decided to give it a try for Sunday lunch. To say it didn't disappoint is an understatement!! The roast beef we both had was simply fantastic, cooked to perfection and loads of it too. We shared a very good Eton Mess and left very happy Monks!! Cant wait for another... More

Went to the Hungry Monk last night after a gap of over five years. Delighted to report that it is still as good and proficient as ever. The meal in the bistro part was delicious especially the Kidneys Dijonaise. Service with Nicholas at the helm, was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our food, drinks and the ambience. Cannot wait to return again.

We've dined here on and off for a number of years and it never fails to impress. Whether upstairs in the restaurant or in the wine bar. Always welcoming and always great food. Well done!

This spot is a regular for me - great atmosphere and friendly staff with mouth-watering food! A fabulous bistro downstairs with limited menu (everything on it is delicious however!) and a full restaurant upstairs which is pricier, but again, delicious! A great selection of wines are available too! If you're going to go to one restaurant in Greystones, this should... More

We regularly frequent this establishment, both the bistro and the restaurant part upstairs. The whole experience is always fantastic, from the wonderful patron Julian at the door who gives you the warmest welcome and that extends right through the business. The food is so consistent and so fresh, we always look forward to our visits.Great selection of drinks too and... More

We stopped at The Hungry Monk on our way back to Rosslare Harbour as we wanted to break up the journey and also had friends in Greystones to meet. We hadn't chosen it ahead but just popped in as it looked nice. We had a toddler with us and when we went in we were a little worried it was... More

Hi We were recommended this restaurant by a number of people and it lived up to all the recommendations and more......Julian organised every detail for us, didn't' blink when we were late as our taxis let us down ( we had an early booking over Chirstmas and expected to be put under pressure to release the table by a certain... Had an evening meal her with my wife recently and as usual it was excellent. The place is always clean and the staff are particularly friendly and helpful. We sat at the bar, not our favourite place but it was the only available place. The only reason I don't like it is the ceiling is low and it gets very... More
