Great food and excellent service One of the best sunday lunches we have had out in a while. The garden is well worth a visit. Vegetables grown in the garden are used in the kitchen.

My wife and I spent a night at Marlfield house and it is probably the best hotel stay we have ever had. The Welcome was excellent, great room, lovely garden and fantastic meals. Staff were all excellent especially 'Jack' - thank you

We had a glorious drive to Gorey from Dublin. On arrival we were given our menus in the elegant Library bar. The menu did not disappoint, we had a tough time deciding what to try because of the fabulous variety. Our choices were taken while we enjoyed our aperitifs. We were then shown into the beautiful diningroom in the glass conservatory.... More

The food in Marlfield has to be up there with the other 5 star country houses/small hotels. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The bedrooms are really comfortable. Please note the higher up you go in the house the smaller (lower floor to ceiling heights) the rooms, so try and stay on the ground or first floor. Its a... More

We are one of the 'regulars' that people mention in reviews, particularly for the 'library lunch'. We are always treated with the greatest care and respect. The food is always delicious, and I think spectacularly good value for the standard and quality [around €22 for two courses] including home cured salmon, fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs from the garden [plus... I photographed a wedding here recently and the staff does an amazing job taking care of their guests. I'm a bit of a food snob and more often than not find wedding food a bit mediocre no matter the couple spends on it. The food was some of the best wedding food I've had. I highly recommend the food and... More

The restaurant is lovely. I was at a music recital here and attended a meal also. The music was fabulous and the food was very nice but the staff could not handle the large number of guests in attendance. I don't think Marlfield's regular customers probably felt that though as they were welcomed by the Bowe family and asked during... More

Once again, we have enjoyed a truly remarkable meal at Marlfield House. Everything here combines to produce a wonderful dining experience, from the elegant setting of Marlfield House itself, to the warm and welcoming staff, and of course the food !! Everything on the plate is delicious, and so beautifully presented that you don't know whether to eat it or... More

One of the best restaurants I have eaten in anywhere. The mansion is beautiful with beautiful furnishings. We had drinks and appetizers in one room then dinner in another atrium style room. We had a great view of the gardens. The overall atmosphere was spectacular. Service was impeccable with dinner ware and silverware being removed and added after each course.... More
