This was our first visit ( two of us) and we mixed fish with the pork on offer. As we were early diners the restaurant was quiet at first but as we were leaving it was busy. We had pate and mussels to start with and both were enjoyable. Our mains were the Tomahawk Pork Chop and haddock in a... More

Six of us sat down to eat and not one of us was happy with our meal. The two kids found the meatballs and pasta too spicy and with too much of a porky taste. Two of us had the fish of the day, haddock, which came deep fried in 'tempura' batter. The fish was okay but it was served... More

First visit to this lovely restaurant and really enjoyed it! Service was very good very friendly and informed staff. My sister has coeliac disease and they were able to adapt a lot if the menu choices for her...she was delighted as this is not always the case and she is usually offered the burger without the bun, the steak without... We are just finished our meal and it was fabulous :) my sister got the steak and it was perfect with plenty of onions and mushrooms. My fish was lovely too. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town :) and the bathrooms have cute little baskets with toiletries in them

We were staying in the seafield hotel and not impressed with the food, so we went into the pigs tale resaturant Friday night. The welcome we got was wonderful, I had charge grilled chicken with mash mixed with herbs.... yummy and my husband had lamb, he taught it was delicious. So on Saturday nite we went back again to The... More

Nine of us just had a wonderful lunch, the service was fantastic, the food devine. The kids cleaned their sizeable plates, the adults struggled with the size of the portions also but the flavours won out and all was enjoyed. We all would highly recommend it.

Myself and my wife were celebrating our 20th Wedding anniversary. We had decided to go out and treat ourselves be dining out, I had heard about the pigs tale but I am not normally a lover of all things pork. Anyway we turned up before 7pm without making a booking as it was a Monday evening. There was quite a... More

Also ate in The Pigs Tale last Tuesday. Great experience, great selection. Brilliant service. Busy restaurant with a buzzy atmosphere, which speaks volumes. I sometimes think people should be required to pass an IQ test before posting a review on this site.

Was told that this was the best in Gorey so booked for the family. Kids meatballs were rock solid and couldn’t be cut or chewed by my daughter. I couldn’t eat them myself. Sent back. Meatballs should be tender and juicy and yield to a knife or tooth. My ribs starter did not taste marinated or glazed with anything other... More

Dear SlaineMcRoth, We are disappointed to read that you did not enjoy your trip to our restaurant. I remember looking after the table and we did indeed exchange the meatballs for you with our apologies. We were not told however that you found the Pork belly/Ribs or chicken supreme dishes unsatisfactory. The ribs are slow cooked in their marinade and... More

Booked here for last Tuesday night for a meal with my husband. We were seated right next to a table with an attention seeking 2 year old. (We left our 10 month old with a babysitter so we could have a quiet meal! Waited an awful long time to have our order taken. The starters were nice my husband got... More

Dear LilyN87, I am sorry to read that you did not fully enjoy your trip to the restaurant. Having been on duty that night, I am however disappointed that none of these issues were pointed out to us in person. We make a point of checking on tables throughout the night so that if there are any issues, we can... More
