First of all the food was good, not mind blowing but good. My grievance and reason for not returning.. Arrived promptly and were seated.. So far so good, the original server said she'd be back to take our order in a few minutes as we had just been handed the menu.. 2 minutes later she returned, I... read more

It was very busy for a Saturday evening, with a number of large functions in the restaurant. We both had Bruschetta Pomodoro to start which were delicious. I had Carbonara and my husband had a delicious pizza. Desserts were ok, for me Tiramisu was not great and the ice cream mix was nice. Overall, we were happy with the meal... More

Attached to the Heritage Hotel Portlaoise and part of our Hotel DB&B package we had modest expectations from this restaurant. What a pleasant surprise. The Bruschetta was excellent with lovely garlic notes and fresh flavoursome tomatoes and it was a generous portion. The Confit of Duck was cooked to perfection served with a rich sauce reduction and roast potatoes which... More

Restaurant was half empty, despite it being new years eve which should have aroused suspicion. Waited about 20 mins for drinks to arrive, and didn't receive any water for the table until we were just finished our mains. I had the spinach and ricotta pasta dish and was very disappointed. The pasta was obviously not fresh as it was cold... More

I've eaten here several times while in Portlaoise on business. To be fair I went on a Sunday night this time, so it was quite quiet and lacking in atmosphere compared to other times. They used to give delicious breads with olive oil with your drinks, but no longer it seems. I ordered a glass of wine and pizza while... More

We ate here with our hotel package while staying in the Heritage next door. The restaurant is adjoining the hotel via stairs but is only a minute walk for anyone in a wheelchair or those who are unable to manage the stairs. We both had bruschetta for starters and it was lovely, followed by Confit duck leg with mash and... More
