Lovely Waterside restaurant

A small restaurant with a good range of courses. Good value for money. The staff are friendly and attentive.

The restaurant has a varied menu with good food freshly cooked. The portions were a good size for healthy appetites after a long day's walk. on previous visits I have heard cyclists expressing their appreciation of the food and the fact that there was plenty of it. The full breakfast was enormous but there were plenty of smaller options as... More

Myself and my husband decided to stop off for a light snack on Easter Sunday before our walk to St. Mullins, We ordered the vegetable soup with brown bread from the menu. Staff were not very friendly, said very little. After a while the soup arrived - it was very bland in taste - then the bread arrived, two thin... More

Thanks for taking the time to comment and extremely disappointed we came up short of your expectations on the day. As you can see from the other reviews we do our best to keep a consistently high standard. It seems on this occasion things were not quite right. Three things seemed to be problematic. Firstly you felt the soup was... More

What more would you want after a perfect days walking along the beautiful Barrow. Good fresh food, prepared with care in a perfect setting. The Waterside is a real asset in a beautiful village with few other dining options. Friendly personal service and excellent value for money.

After spending three days at Graiguenamanagh attending the book festival as a bookseller, I treated myself an evening meal at the Waterside Restaurant. The food was excellent, the service impeccable, and the dining room was also being used for a temporary exhibition of the work of a local artist. Had it been beef on the menu then perhaps her lifelike... More

Thanks for the positive review. The 'Town of Books' Festival is always such a hectic weekend in Graiguenamanagh and we are stretched to the limit. Good to know we were still getting things right on the Sunday evening. The Cod has been an absolute winner this Summer so glad you enjoyed it. Hope you will be back again for next... More

Four of us stayed for one night but wanted to stay for more. The accommodation was superb with a great view of the river. We were greeted in such a friendly manner and instantly introduced to the chef as we had booked advising that my wife was gluten and fructose intolerant. Her needs were immediately attended to and the service... More

Great to hear you enjoyed the meal. Our kitchen staff are very experienced and can adapt to most situations with a bit of warning. And glad you got a chance to explore the river towpath. We reckon it is one of the best spots in Ireland for walking and cycling. Hopefully we will see you back in Graiguenamanagh soon. More

The food cannot be faulted and the atmosphere in this old mill is very pleasant. Occasionally a highly entertaining jazz band makes the experience perfect. Brian, if a little zany is a great host and the staff are really friendly.

It seems that the last six or seven years has not changed the value and experience of eating at the Quay. When we were able to drive(age limits) we always went to Graiguenamanagh and stayed at the Waterside Inn just to be able to enjoy breakfast as well as dinner. Who can forget the brown bread to die for? It... More

Thanks so much for the positive review. We have been working really hard to keep consistently good food on the menu. We have just increased the number of local craft producers featured on the menu and we are hoping that will appeal to all our visitors that have supported us over the last 15 years. Hope you can make it... More

The food is served in a professional manner. The waitress set the ambiance well with music and lighting. We enjoyed the food here more than any other place we ate in all of Ireland and we were in Ireland for 20 days! A must, if you want to enjoy a lovely evening.
