Unassuming cafe and bakery with excellent food

This cafe was recommended by a shop owner at Spiddal, with the remake that the locals teat there. He was right the food and beverage was excellent, with plenty of choice. The cafe was very busy but that didn't prevent the very friendly staff providing great service. I live in Galway and have been to An Builín Blasta before for just tea or coffee and maybe a sweet treat and found it grand, tourist focused and overpriced but today I have to admit my husband and I were a bit annoyed with the experience ! We ordered fish cakes and a portion of wedges, when we got... More

Visited this establishment several weeks ago after hearing of its high standards and awards. Made the trip from Galway City with high expectations. We were seated immediately upon arrival. I ordered the goats cheese and my girlfriend ordered the fish cake. Everything seemed in order and was presented well. Several moments later my girlfriend found a hair embedded in her... More

The coffee was weak bodied, the soup was smoked tomato with undercooked chick peas, not that tasty. Unusually my children didn't enjoy their main meal or cakes? Service was haphazard, a waitress answered the phone in the middle of serving me and didn't direct another member of staff to continue. It looks the part but doesn't quite deliver. Highchair needed... More

Visited today - place was v busy which was surprising for time of day but typical as food is excellent and plentiful; waitress said it's a new menu so we'll be back to try it again!

A lovely stop on a coastal drive through south Connemara on the road from Galway through Spiddal. Food is super delicious. Staff very pleasant. Excellent service. Small so seating can be hard to get if they are busy. But it's worth waiting for a seat.

Situated in the Craft Village in Spiddal, this little cafe was full to capacity when we arrived & we could see why. The menu is exciting with nice combinations & served with super tasting sides. We had a sandwich which was freshly made with a crisp broccoli, chickpea & goats cheese salad and a vegan wrap with hummus, quinoa and... More

This is a great place for a coffee with cakes or a full lunch. They will do take out also. Tends to get very full at lunchtime but if you can get there early it is well worth it. They also have breads to take away as well as anythng eals you might like. this is a good option if... More
