We decided to take the five minute walk from the citywest hotel into saggart village and were glad to find such a lovely restaurant. We had three courses and had no complaints whatsoever. The interior is light spacious and airy, from the exterior this is not what you would expect. Staff were very attentive and friendly and were glad to... More

My boyfriend and I came here on a random Thursday night for a quiet dinner. Its a lovely small cute place and the food was really night. I think we did a 3 course meal for 30 euro . Chicken wings for starters ....So tangy and amazing. Black pudding with poached also for starters.....So different and tasty. We both got... More

We decided on the spur of the moment to visit the Anvil again and we are glad we did. It was around five o'clock so it was just starting to get busy for the evening. I choose, from the Tapas menu, fish cakes, spicy chicken wings and a selection of breads with dips, the wings were so tasty and the... More

A perfect place lunch or dinner. The service is efficient and friendly and the food fresh and tasty. I had the tuna salad which was divine. Highly recommend this place.

We were staying in a nearby hotel but decided to 'eat out' at the Anvil that night. Were we glad that we did? Absolutely! Although it was extremely busy - I think that the 'early bird' diners were still there when we arrived - our table was ready and iced water arrived soon after we were seated. We only wanted... More

Went there lots of times and Allways got something nice. Restaurant is spotless and service is friendly. Food is good with some good specials. Nice chicken curry. Steaks are good and bangers and mash is fab and brings me back to my childhood. Meat is sourced from family butcher (so they claim) and meat is definitely good. Outside is good... More

We visit The Anvil every couple of weeks. Have done for years. The staff are always attentive & glad to see and look after every person that arrives, whether they have booked or not. No matter where you sit, you can see staff are happy to give the best service possible. They're a credit to the owners. Food is always... More

We walked by this restaurant twice before even venturing to peep inside. The sun was out, bank holiday Saturday afternoon, we had strolled down from the nearby CItywest Hotel hoping to sit out something and have a light snack and a cool glass of wine .Nowhere fitted the bill..so bact to that peep! The problem here is that from the outside... More
