We visited for Coffee and Scones every morning. Staff were extremely pleasant and friendly. Coffee and Scones were excellent with delicious desserts on offer also. We enjoyed a browse in their gift shop each day and walked the grounds. There is a sculpture exhibition in the barley fields this summer and its worth a stroll round, we really enjoyed it.... More

Excellent food, salmon was absolutely beautiful and wonderfully fresh, potatoes were gorgeous. The dessert trolley is a must and please ask for a mixed plate as you really could not choose between those on offer! Our waitress was very professional and gave us excellent and friendly service. This really made up for the abrupt and rather unfriendly front of house... More

We stayed here to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. We had our meal here on saturday evening. It was a seven course meal and the staff were more than helpful.I would recommend to do the early morning breadmaking in the kitchen. I did this with JR he was great and gave me the recipes to take home afterwards as well as... More

The restaurant maintains Myrtle Allen's original objective of 'dining in an Irish country house'. It was classic food, well cooked with excellent ingredients. 5 courses, but sensible portion sizes, so manageable. Absolutely nothing to criticise.

We ate twice at Ballymaloe on our recent trip to East Cork. Friends had said it wasn't a Michelin star experience, that isn't a bad thing! The food is real, unpretentious and absolutely delicious. The service is outstanding. Our only regret was that we didn't stay in the hotel - this is a place with a beating heart and soul.

I've never had a bad meal at Ballymaloe but a recent visit was really special - it was a family birthday, and though none of us had mentioned it when booking, a slice of cake with candle was brought out for the birthday girl. We were so impressed! As always, food quality was excellent, service amazing and nothing was too... More

Really enjoyable food, not at all stuffy or pretentious (which I feared). Attended business event there so was stunned that the food for a group was so good.

Enjoyed lunch here with friends. Varied and unusual menu. Prices were a bit high but we considered the experience worth it. Best to book a table prior to visiting shop or gardens as the restaurant is small and very busy

Friday night - dinner menu was outstanding - buffet starter with pate, lobster and shellfish, soup, salad an excellent main course selection and a desert table that blow you away. Everything was delicious. Sunday lunch - lunch menu was excellent - again an outstanding main course selection and again the desert selection was extraordinary.
