Egyptian/Greek Food

My son had a choice of restaurants to visit for his Soils and Civilization Class at UT. The list included Gosh, Holy Land Deli (both of which I have visited) and King Tut's Grill. I suggested that I take my son and daughter, who also attends UT one cold Jan. night. I am glad I made the choice... read more

Greeted by the owner/chef/waitress was a pleasant surprise. Advertised as Egyption Food, some of the dishes reminded me of Greek food. The Sampler and the enormous Greek salad top the menu and are tasty treats. The day's special of "stuffed flounder" was superb. The restaurant's location is sketchy and this tiny restaurant probably doesn't meet health codes but the fresh... More

We have been going to King Tut's Grill for many years. We have skipped a few years until tonight. The food was as great as ever! The food is prepared by a lady from Cairo. We have been to Cairo, and can tell you, it is authentic. The last health department score, from last month, was 95 out of 100.... More

The decor was weird and dark. You have to walk through the less than clean kitchen to get to their dilapidated restroom. The food was ok, but the portions were small. The overpriced sandwiches didn't even come with fries. Drinks were big but three bucks. Really? Nice places don't even charge that. For four of us, we had a tab... More

After a coworker recommended this place, my husband and I took our two kids. He's a vet and loves any ethnic food. He was really excited about this place, and despite the shabby decor and tiny menu, we ordered and still kept an open mind. I had the Greek salad, which was large (the only thing that was large that... More

When you see the place you will not be inpressed but dont let that deter you. Yes I will agree the food was a little slow to come but it was well worth the wait. The Greek salad was one of the best I have ever had. It was 10 dollars but I dare one person to eat all of... More

I can't even begin to describe how horrible our experience was. Let's see, dinner took over two hours, of which 15 minutes was spent eating and the rest was spent waiting (on drink, on menu, on silverware, on food, on check, etc). My husband ordered the grilled chicken which was 1/4 of a chicken breast, uncle Ben's rice and green... More
