Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

One of the best pizzas in Knoxville. They have the best warm bacon spinach salad with poppy seed dressing. The salad is made with thick bits of Benton's Bacon and the small pizza which only has 4 slices is perfect to share on a date.

Amazingly, every time I go to the Tomato Head it is a real treat. The specials are outstanding and the regular items are always exceptionally good. You will not go away disappointed.

My boyfriend and I stopped in Knoxville for lunch while on a road trip and we were both amazed with The Tomato Head. The restaurant has a ton of character and is located in Market Square, which was great to check out. Although very busy, the wait staff was very attentive and quick. You can also use an app to... We love to go here for brunch on Saturday and Sunday, the food has always been great, my only complaint is the portions are kinda small.

The food, as usual, was generally good, but the dessert was disappointing. Listed as 'cobbler,' the $7.25 dessert consisted of overheated (hot, actually) fruit topped with a poppyseed biscuit and scoop of ice cream. Almost burned my mouth on the fruit. The newly-designed restaurant was very noisy and quite dark: conversation is difficult and the food can be difficult to... More

Tomato Head is truly a unique experience in pizza, salad and sandwich dining. These cooks should be bragged about worldwide!

I don't think I have EVER had anything at Tomato Head that I didn't like. The food is ALWAYS fresh and tasty. The service is mostly good (I have had a slow server a time or two). We are usually in the square to hang out so we aren't in a hurry. We love the homemade salad dressings and bread... More

That's right - veggies and cupcakes. I love to be the good girl/bad girl here. There are so many fresh and delicious sandwiches and salads (and I think they do pizza, too, but that's not my thing) to nourish your healthy side, and fresh and delicious cupcakes (some are gluten free - that's hard to find) to indulge your needy... Love, love the interior of this place. The walls are filled with local art. The floors were gorgeous. The windows and view were exactly what you would be looking for in Knoxville's hip downtown area. We started with a hummus plate and bread and pesto. Both were gobbled up quickly. We followed that with Lamb Sausage & Sundried Tomato with... More

This used to be my favorite restaurant: great food, healthy, home made bread. However, the acoustics are terrible. You cannot talk to the person next to you without yelling.
