Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste...
We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

Great Food

I was here with a large group and it took a while to get our food, but the pizza was great! We all had the pizza, but I saw several other dishes and they looked tasty, as well.

Had brunch here on a Sunday morning. Place was busy but not packed (no wait). Menu looks better than the food is. I understand local organic and all that is more expensive, but my wife's $11 breakfast sandwich should have been bigger than an egg mcmuffin at McDonalds. My omelette was perfectly made, although the sides were mediocre, and the... More

A favorite of mine in Knoxville. The food is always outstanding. The service is friendly and efficient. A good variety of craft beer. Leave room for a cookie, they are excellent.

Based on the reviews, stopped here for lunch while traveling through Knoxville. Reviews are correct -- This place is terrific! Exceptional food and service. We had the O Boy Sandwich, Greek Salad, Black Beans and Rice, and Blueberry Cobbler. We highly recommend the O Boy and the Cobbler.

Sat outside on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Good thing we were enjoying the outdoors because the service was bad. We had to go in on three separate occasions to ask for drinks, condiments, etc. Each time our waitress was sitting at a table talking. The food was good, tasted very fresh. Pizza crust is perfect. We will go back again... More

As a former "Road Warrior", I REALLY appreciate GREAT food, and this place hit the mark. Quality of food, especially being sourced locally was GREAT. Service was very good too, but I also have to say I was surprised that the guys were wearing shorts shorter than the women. Location If it wasn't for all the homeless people in the... More

I had high hopes for this restaurant as they stand behind local production and other good stuff. However I was greatly disappointed by the overall value for money. I do understand that restaurants in down-town are expensive, but paying $10 for a supposed large sandwich and had to get another meal somewhere else because I was still hungry is not... More

It's nice that they offer organic milk and hormone and antibiotic free meats. BUT they cheeses used here contain the cancer causing rbgh!! Why do they even offer everything they do so you can eat a cancer causing pizza!!

You better make it Tomato Head or the Sunspot. Both might be classified as "student food," featuring menus that may appeal most to college students. Both feature fresh, local and organic options when possible and both offer vegetarian and vegan dishes. Tomato Head has an eclectic line of sandwiches which offer toppings including spinach, pineapple, bean sprouts, pecans and tofu.... More
