Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

We had a group of 11 and seated us within 30 minutes on a Friday night. Non stop business and hustling servers. My wife and I tried the pizza and she liked it, I really didn't care for it, maybe the pickled jalapeños and banana peppers had a bad taste for me. Other people had good looking sandwiches and one... Food was delicious. Benton bacon, ham, andouille sausage was awesome. 5 cheese was also good. Wife had the Tuscan Chicken. It was incredible as well. She ordered the large. Not sure what the small would have been like, but the large was on a tiny round bun cut into two pieces. To-go order took about 25 minutes to prepare during... More

We heard good things and they delivered great, tasty, healthy, fresh, reasonably priced food! Love the motto. Friendly staff. One note, since I have friends with sensory issues -- it's very loud inside at booth; ask for a table outside.

My wife and I recently stopped through Knoxville and chose this restaurant based on the Trip Advisor ratings. I must say, reviewers were right on the money giving this restaurant it's well deserved high rating! We enjoyed the Market Square environment as this was our first visit to this part of Knoxville. At our server's recommendation, we ordered a cup... More

I especially enjoy the atmosphere of the space. The renovation was well done and our server was friendly and helpful. The food was a bit bland but presentation was nice.

Tomato Head is now one of my favorite restaurants! We stopped in for lunch one day in April and was impressed with the sandwiches we had. I had the "LUCY" - fresh spinach, hummus, roasted onion, roasted portobello and monterey jack cheese. It was awesome. My son had the "Oh Boy" - fresh spinach, chicken, bacon, sundried tomatos, monterey jack,... More

We happened to be driving through Knoxville at lunch time and asked for reccomendations on Facebook. This place was wonderful. Expect a wait for your food but it was well worth it. We ended up having our 7 year old boys split the large ham and cheese sandwich and it was plenty. I had the warm bacon salad which was... More

Tomato Head is an unpretentious restaurant that caters to a wide and diverse clientele. The food is healthy and tasty. There is a good brew selection, too. My favorite is the black bean pizza. I always substitute the TH homemade lamb sausage for the Italian sausage offered on this one. It's really a great taste treat!

Tomato Head has been on the Square for a long time. This is such a great place! Many options to appeal to vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. Difficult not to enjoy this place! Newly expanded, it is truly a gem. So good, you won't realize that it is healthy!

Waitress was okay, but not personable, we had a tomato head and turkey melt sandwiches, both were very good. Parking was a challenge but we managed and feel it was worth the stop
