Description: We believe less processed food tastes better. Not only does it taste better, it's much healthier too. You'll notice this difference in our house made dressings and handcrafted pizzas, as well as in our colorful salads and sandwiches. Fresh produce from East Tennessee farmers like Hines Valley Farm, Mountain Meadows Farm and Colvin Family Farm is featured in our daily specials. Well known for our vegan and vegetarian dishes, our menu has plenty for the carnivore. All of our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all natural and antibiotic free. Our house made lamb sausage is cooked in small batches to ensure freshness. Our sister bakery, Flour Head Bakery, prepares all of the Tomato Head's desserts and breads (including gluten free!) Each morning. By using unbleached and unbromated King Arthur Flour, we create healthier and better tasting pizza dough and sandwich breads. We also can easily accommodate your dietary needs. Whether it's a nut allergy, a preference for vegan fare or a gluten sensitivity, our staff will craft a dish to suit your tastes.

This has always been a delicious joint but prior to renovations, it was so small you could consider it a hole in the wall. Since it went through renovations, its wonderfully spacey and totally adorable inside! You're no longer cramped up at the register, kitchen, and your seat. The kitchen is fronted with a glass wall adding to the elegance... More

I am not a vegetarian however for the past 15 years I keep going back to the Kepner melt . Pizza is awesome as well esp the lamb sausage with goat cheese and sundried tomatoes. And whatever the soup of the day is...it is so fresh, creative and good! This has always been my go to restaurant in my hometown.

Having been to the Tomato Head numerous times in the last 20 years, I am surprised that I keep wanting to go back again and again! I love the new location in the Gallery Shopping Center because the parking is so much more convenient than Market Square! This is a great place to go if you like fresh salads, sandwiches,... More

Having enjoyed the downtown location a year or so ago, we had lunch near the mall. Friendly service, nicely diverse menu, and reasonable prices...what's not to like? In addition to the taste of our two veggie sandwiches, their reasonable (vs. gargantuan) size was welcome...just the right size. Also a nice mid-priced wine selection.

There was a wait for tables but they have a great system where they can text you when your table is ready. So we walked around Market Square, which we really liked! Lots of cute, independent shops, no cars, and tasteful holiday decorations. The restaurant itself was very good, too. Food was fresh and tasty.

I love their Gluten Free Pizza & desserts. My husband likes the great beer selections & the kids get their favorites... burgers, fries, pizza, etc. but I know where the ingredients come from, so I don't mind. A restaurant with a conscience. Also great service.

I have only been here twice and each time I get pizza. it's just so good. really fresh tasting. doesn't seem like anything comes from a can like other places. My friends get different things and I keep sayings I'll try that next time but I end up with the pizza.

Not a huge fan of this restaurant. I think it's a bit over rated and the food isn't that great. If you really want good food, go to Tupelo Honey.
