Really love this place. Not many restaurants can touch this place and its because the food is special but what is really special is the way Paul the owner treats his guests. He always makes you feel special I let Paul create a speciality for me every time. Love the food. Oh the canolis are amazing and a special treat.... More

Nice, homey atmosphere for our dinner with a friend (who recommended it)--we wanted to go to a local place in west Knoxville. I had a delicious Pollo Florentine, and the other two had very good entrees, Pollo Amanda (can't think of the other one)--they loved theirs also. I didn't see any salads on the menu (but many appetizers). So we... More

Two words. Garlic rolls. They are like nothing else. The rolls alone have drawn us in time and time again. I can't say enough about this place. If you're looking for a classy Italian place, warm ambiance, awesome food, this is it.

My husband and I searched out a restaurant to celebrate my birthday at, and decided on Altrudas Italian in Knoxville. We didn't want an Olive Garden experience, and did a little research to find a place with excellent food and great ambience. WE FOUND IT!! The first thing that was a stand-out was the really great service! Our server was... More

This place is absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is very cozy and the food is all made to order and delicious. They will accomodate any menu requests that they can. The bread and salad are ridiculously delicious and fresh...Eggplant nicole with marinara is my favorite...YUM!

Husband and I came here for an early Valentine's dinner date and we were pleased. We were seated immediately and greeted by numerous wait staff as we walked to our table. Our waitress was extremely friendly. We loved the salad as we waited for our meals, there was a little too much Italian dressing--don't dig to the bottom. We had... More

Really the food was good but I had the lasagna, the ravioli, chicken, everything had about a pound of cheese. Would have been better if I could have tasted the food. 2 stars

Altrudas knows how to garlic the bread and not so much the sauce. Growing up on authentic southern Italian food, I could never understand why so many restaurants ruin their sauce with garlic. Altruda gets it! Smells and tastes like what grandma used to make. Atmosphere somewhat cozy.

I was longing for a privately owned restaurant instead of the "chain" atmosphere. As we entered the restaurant I was pleased with the setting - old world antique-just my style. The employees, fantastic! I had previously read reviews that were not good but ignored the advise seeing that the parking lot was full and everything else told me "yes". The... More

We have lived in the area for a while and have been told about how great Altruda's is, repeatedly, so a couple of weeks ago we finally tried it out ourselves. I will say that the inside of the restaurant looks lovely and the service was good. The problem was the food. The spaghetti with clam sauce (normally a cream-based... More
