Called ahead and reserved their "most romantic" table, and they delivered. We had an entire room to ourselves, and a waiter exclusive to our table. Food was terrific, (especially the baked oysters, complete with collard greens and Benton's bacon.) Opt for a bottle of Velvet Devil Merlot, and ask for Michael. You won't be disappointed.

We had heard and read such great reviews about this place, that we were excited to eat there. We were glad to see that it was a local establishment (something we seek out, when we visit towns), not a chain restaurant (we like supporting local places). However, we were very disappointed once we got there. To begin, my husband had... More

Stopped in for a date night meal. Love the atmosphere in this restaurant. Your table is not so close to others that you can't have a conversation with your date. Hubby had the pork shank and I had the shrimp and grits. Both had salads. Best dinner we've had in a while. Absolutely delicious and we had a great date... More

One of the best places in town. The food and atmosphere are excellent. Many different varieties on the menu, steaks, everything good. Nothing to take away from a wonderful experience.

Have enjoyed this restaurant over the years. Was initially surprised that they now rotate their entrees and left off one of my favorites, the High Country Boil (their version of the low country boil) which I think of as one of their signature dishes. It turned out to be a very good thing because I had to try something different... More

This restaurant has a great vibe - it's cozy thanks to the large fireplace and cabin decor, even despite the high ceilings and open floor plan. The bar area is filled with small booths and high tables in a separate room off the dining room. The menu is updated seasonally but always features a good variety of southern fare in... More

My parents live in Knoxville and have been here a few times. I was visiting from out of town and they suggested going for my mother's birthday. We had a lovely experience! Our server was very prompt, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The bread before dinner was very good with two types of butter with it. My parents each... More

Highlands Grill is a neighborhood restaurant that was re-created a couple of years ago after a long absence. Early (largely successful) efforts at first-class cuisine have slipped into a rut. The menu was shortened, and while changing occasionally, it is regional southern-exotic without being exciting. Its main virtue is reliability and competence, so we're still loyal when we feel uncertain.... More

We ate here on New Year's Eve. The food was great and the service was excellent. The kitchen was efficient; we didn't wait long for anything. Bread with 2 kinds of butter arrived with our drinks. Both of us ordered the crab cakes with remoulade and were pleased with the decision. The accompanying crispy fried okra was a fun flavor... More
