What a Gem!

We went with friend for the second time - Chef Seth's outstanding menu selections are top shelf. He always comes out to greet his guests; asking if anyone has any type of food issues and explains the menu items for the evening. I could not resist the Scallops (which is the everybody's favorite... read more

This is a go-to place for us for special dinners. We love the menu, ambiance, and the food. The chef always comes out to speak to guests and he is wonderful to make his guests comfortable. We saw him work with a table with some teenagers and he listened, suggested items, and offered to fix it differently to suit their... More

Can't understand the great reviews for this place. I think people give great reviews to justify what they have paid for the meal. I ordered the fillet and it was covered with so much sauce I could hardly taste the meat. The meat shredded apart when I tried to cut it and tasted more like a pot roast. My wifes... More

My previous review of Echo was less than laudatory, and I stand by that review. Chef Seth was unexpectedly out of town, and I guess they were struggling without him that night. Well, last night they definitely had their "A game" going. Start to finish, it was unbelievably good. It didn't hurt that our friends brought a wonderful bottle of... More

Returned to Echo for a main meal. Very competent but some plate pairings, while fascinating didn't work. Items on a plate must be of comparable quality and not use each other as a crutch; sauces should not be overworked to harmonize (camouflage?) the "complementary" flavors. I good attempt but not ready for prime time or such high prices ...

Seth & Lisa Simmerman make you feel like you are special! From the excellent prepared food be Seth to being greeted by Lisa you are taken care of. The food is soooo good. The freshly made pesto is to die for and that is just the starter! Put this in the list a have to do in Knoxville!

Visited while on a trip to Knoxville and was very pleased with the food and the service. Enjoyed a few glasses of whine while enjoying a cheese plate and some blue cheese chips. Cheeses represented a good cross section of flavors and the chips were smothered with blue cheese and jalapeño peppers. High quality ingredients served well by a great... More

We were a group of about twelve having dinner at Echo Bistro. The service and attentiveness of the staff were excellent, not uncomfortable over-the-top but professional and knowledgeable. Entrees, especially the Dover Sole, were delicious and brilliantly presented. I had a wedge salad that was excellent and an appetizer of mussels for my entrée, delicious and reasonably priced. Most entrée... More

We were greeted by the Chef when we arrived. Food and wine were delicious and priced right. It is a small restaurant and did get noisy but it had a good vibe. Our only complaint was that it took half an hour between asking for the check and actually leaving. Service was good up until that point. My daughter had... More

It had a great atmosphere! The server was excellent and the food came in a timely manner. Echo does use alot of ingredients in your food that could be left out. Please don't follow the menu ! We wanted creme brulee for desert and it was no longer on the menu. The menu changes every few weeks says the server... More
