Not Just Gelato

This is a best-kept lunchtime secret. They have delish paninis, generous salads and some of the best homemade soups you can find. Try to catch the Tomato Basil - it's amazing.

We found the shop while walking in downtown Knoxville and decided to try after we had lunch. We sampled a few before making our choice of blue birthday cake for my soon and good ole chocolate to share with my husband. We also sampled some of the baked goods. Everything was delicious and they have so much to choose from.... More

This place never disappoints. We've been here a few times now and each time I've tried something different and have always enjoyed my selection. Today, we had Italian hot chocolates with desserts. For Celiacers, there is usually a CGF option in the gelato case and the staff is very knowledgeable about other options as well. On my next trip, I... More

My wife and I came here when we were dating. Now, we bring our daughter. :) The owners told us they traveled to Italy in search of fantastic gelato. I try other flavors but have the cappuccino crunch every time.

Authentic Gelato, cakes and pies, cannoli, coffees...sounds great huh? Well, it is. If you want dessert, blow off the idea of eating the second rate junk you might get at your dinner spot, and find your way to Coolato Gelato. Their coffee drinks are excellent too. Mixing gelato with express is a unique idea that truly works in this case.... More

I have traveled the world and Coolato Gelato is the closest to Italian gelato as you can get without the plane ticket !!! So yummy, friendly faces greet you no matter what time you come in !!! We came in 10 minutes before closing after a show and they were so accommodating for our group of 7 ...impressive !!!

Such a pretty place to finish off the evening with dessert. The gelatos are creamy and wonderful and the hot chocolate is top notch and generous.

So glad you enjoyed our hot chocolate. It is made with love on the stove, just like our grandparents used to make it. More

We went in for the gelato, being very skeptical that it would not live up to our experience in Europe. We were pleasantly surprised. While it is not exactly the same, it was delicious! I had chocolate and my daughter had the tiramisu flavor. They also have pastries, including cannolis, which are my favorite! Very yummy. I cannot wait to... More

Thank you for the kind words. Gelato is an art. The ingredients, recipes and equipment we use are from Italy, however milk from different parts of world will taste different based on what the cows eat or don't eat. The best gelato is in Florence. More

This place has amazing gelato, anytime we are downtown we stop by. The gelato is so creamy and delicious, and the flavors change daily. We can't wait to go again!

First of all, thank you for visiting Coolato when you come to town. Second of all we are so glad that you enjoy the gelato. We are now making our fall flavors. Some of them are pumpkin cheese cake, apple cider sorbetto, and apple pie that is made with our homemade apple pie. Again, thank you for visiting with Coolato. More
