BBQ with a twist

I typically won't crave BBQ but Dead End has such unique options to give a wide variety of dishes to appeal to everyone's desires. Their okra is great: not slimy or thick "frozen" style breading. The jalapeño corn muffins are wonderful and the pimento macaroni and cheese is GREAT! Their BBQ... read more

When in Rome...I made the drive from Oak Ridge to Knoxville for the BBQ Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese Sandwich after hearing the locals talk about it. It was worth the trip. I loved the sandwich and the restaurant is pretty cool too. It isn't a fancy place but kind of a fast food, grab a beer kind of place.... More

When hotel staff recommended Dead End for my barbeque craving, my quizzical look was followed by "don't let the name fool you". I asked my husband and he was all in as he had been there before. He says the best banana pudding in the world. I highly recommend starting with the smoked sausage, cheese, and pita appetizer. My half... More

We have been to Dead End BBQ about 3 times. Service is good and the food is good. I wish I could say great because we really love BBQ. We will probably eat there again in the future but will not be out "go to" place. I don't think it lived up to its reputation.

The appetizers are amazing - I highly recommend the beef nachos and bacon wrapped shrimp!! We ordered the family feast and the meats were good but a bit dry. The sides were tasty, our favorite was the mixed greens! Great service though - shout out to David!!

Dead End is a local favorite for BBQ and a twist on the standard sides. Tucked away off Kingston Pike in the Bearden Area, it's a quaint little place with a big atmosphere. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but my favorite is the Grilled Beef and Cheddar. If you're a fan, try the fried okra as... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend but I was disappointed. I went there for a warm evening meal, hoping to find the southern welcoming and food. We hadn't booked a table: the waiter seemed hesitant and asked one time too many if we were sure we wanted to wait (we were, and said it clearly!). We were seated in... More

First off, prepare to sit - this ain't no take-out fast food joint. It's actually nicely furnished inside, with sports memorabilia and big-screen TVs. The wait staff was very friendly and thoughtful. Thank you Haley & Co. The Dead End Mac Attack (pulled pork bbq with mac&cheese) was recommended and acquired -- and heartily consumed! It was on huge Texas-toast... More

The Mac & Cheese Pork BBQ sandwich was really good. The Pork nachos were excellent, but the Chicken nachos were a little bland. Fun atmosphere & good service. We will definitely be back.
