Great food. If you want to seat outside be sure to get there around 5pm. Macaroni & cheese awesome, turkey hamburgers, and before you leave don't forget to taste the cupcakes. Afternoons very nice

Great patio for people watching. Very friendly staff and quick service. The black and bleu salad ahs shrimp but they were gracious about subbing the salmon. Very enjoyable lunch.

Enjoyed dinner with my son in June. It was a very hot day and it was warm in the restaurant - not the best A/C system apparently or not turned down. Service was OK - server seemed to be more interested in table next to us than fulfilling a request for more water which took 10 minutes to get. Food... More

After arriving from Nashville we found downtown Knoxville not quite as interesting in terms of good places to eat. One good exception was Cafe 4 in Market Square. My wife ordered Parmesan crusted scallops accompanied with lobster cream sauce, grits and asparagus. The scallops tasted fresh, tender and no grit. I had an oven roasted herb half chicken with rosemary... More

This is not your average Knoxville restaurant. We have always had good experiences here. On my most recent trip, I took our out of town guests. They all really enjoyed their choices. They have an excellent menu for brunch and dinner. I have always had good customer service. The baked goods are just ok.

i had to check and make sure I was in Knoxville, TN. The food in this place rivals any fine restaurant in NYC. It is a favorite...

I stopped at Cafe 4 on the way to work today for a treat (couldn't eat the usual cereal again). I got a banana walnut muffin and a strawberry croissant. Unfortunately, they tasted funny (some common basic ingredient like maybe the oil wasn't right) and were in general underwhelming. Maybe they were brought in frozen from far away? Next time... More

PROs: Great coffee, friendly staff, good selection of pastries, great location, fast, reasonable price. CONs: The breakfast sandwich is very hard to eat due to rock hard toasted croissant. Better if left un-toasted.
