The Purple Cow-how crazy is that. Sandwiches, subs, everything prepared fresh from the time you stop at the Order window, to driving around the building to the pick-up window. Fried bologna sandwich-takes you back to Mom's kitchen.

I have lived in the tricities area my entire life. Before moving to Kingsport I lived out in the Holston Mountain area. Those of us who have been here many years remember the `greasey spoons' and little hole in the wall dives out in the middle of no where with a grill you could see from your stool and a... More

Fast food with a twist, then take home sit down restaurant food. EVERYTHING is fixed the minute you order it, nothing is prepared ahead of time and stale. Really, they begin fixing your order the minute you order it. That's the reason people are willing to line around the building to get their food. If you like hop monster sized... More

We visit Kingport and Bristol about once every two months. We always stop off at the Purple Cow and we are always impressed. Best value and food any where in town. Yes, the wait sucks sometimes. You can call ahead if you want. We don't mind to wait. I highly recommend.

The line is long...but you see it before pulling in (don't like to wait...don't stop). A pre-glimpse of the menu would be awesome but its not the end of my world to hurry. The food is outstanding...the cheesecake has been touched by Jesus I'm pretty sure. The employees are a little rough looking...but have you seen the hiring pool lately?... More

Everyone is correct about the long lines but if you love the food, you'll sit in line time and time again. I usually get the burgers and fries. If I compared them to Pal's (a very similar drive-thru) I'd give Purple Cow an 8 and Pal's a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Ask for a menu, take... More

All I have ever tried from Purple cow are their burgers and fries. There burgers are really good. Love the double cheese burgers. If unsure just go with the special. For less than three bucks you can get a burger loaded, fries and a medium drink. Word of advice if they have a line pick a different restaurant. Their menu is... More

Was driving thru and thought I would try the Purple Cow. Stopped and got a steak bomb and fries. The fries were good and the sub was ok. I would rate it higher if the bread had been better. The meat had been good. If I ever have the chance I would try them again but get something that didn't... More
