This place has not changed in years, but it needs to ASAP! You can expect to kill at least 20 minutes in line waiting to get your order, and that's on a slow day! The food is average at best, and when you consider all the time wasted just to get it,there are much better options available in town. The... More

We got the Margarita Milkshake and it was good. This was my 3rd or 4th time at the Purple Cow. Their food is good. Service is almost always friendly. The old man can be rude sometimes, but that's the only negative thing I can say about that.

Seems more like a novelty to do once or twice and experience such a big menu. But, it's not worth 30+ minutes in that drive thru. Food is so-so and staff is not so friendly.

A line out into the street is the telltale sign of a fabulous drive-thru and Purple Cow does not disappoint. The PB-banana milkshake is a MUST for me every time we are in town!

My sister, Dad and myself drove from Oklahoma to the races in Bristol and had to stop at this place. The staff are very nice and since we were able to look at the menu on FB we were able to decide fairly quickly what we wanted. So after the Hawaiian, Fried Bologna sandwich, and a Philly Cheese steak we... More

I absolutely love the Purple Cow. I'm still amazed after all these years how they can get so many items out of that small building. The options are endless. If your appetite is big enough try the Intimidator. A truly monstrous burger that once you eat it all,you may never be the same.

I was skeptical at first--who wouldn't be. The cow really is enough to turn anyone off; and if memory serves, there is some sort of hot-dog-like sculpture welcoming you in as well. I don't know. I can't be held responsible for what you see at the Purple Cow; I go there for the food. I don't even know how to... More

The Purple Cow-how crazy is that. Sandwiches, subs, everything prepared fresh from the time you stop at the Order window, to driving around the building to the pick-up window. Fried bologna sandwich-takes you back to Mom's kitchen.

I have lived in the tricities area my entire life. Before moving to Kingsport I lived out in the Holston Mountain area. Those of us who have been here many years remember the `greasey spoons' and little hole in the wall dives out in the middle of no where with a grill you could see from your stool and a... More
