Great food, great staff! If you don't see it on the menu, just ask! The salsa is so good, I wish they'd serve it in bigger bowls.

OK, you're not gonna believe this but if y are in the Tri-City area of TN and are craving a authentic Mexican meal just go out of your way a little and find El Charolais. Yes it's in a strip center, no Johnson City does not have a 'little Mexico' section of town from which you would logic a restaurant... More

We eat at El Charolais fairly regularly, it's our preference when we want local Mexican food. As a rule, the food is fresh, well prepared and the service is very good. The owners and managers will frequently stop by and ask if everything is good with our meal, it's one of the places where they still show their appreciation for... More

I'm really picky when it comes to Mexican food. My opinion, this place sufficed. It didn't knock me off my feet, but I didn't dislike it either. The menu is large with lots of variety. The vegetarian shrimp offered in the vegetarian section really cracked me up! The portions are generous - I walked away with a box every visit.... More

Went on Hotel staff recommendation. Glad I did. Very well prepared Mexican food. Quality is up there with the best I have had in the southwest U.S. Good service, affordable prices. Bartender makes a great, fresh Margarita, not from canned mix.

I went here with a group of 7. We were seated right away for a late dinner. Friendly staff, gracious and helpful :-) The portions were a good size, the flavor was great! My hubby was a bit surprised that the shredded beef burrito tasted different than he is used to at most places. However, we specifically came here to... More

In the area on a business trip. My wife and I decided to find a Mexican restaurant and all of the online reviews pointed us here. The service was ok, but lacked in some areas. We waited a good while for a waitress to even take our drink order. It was busy, but not packed. They were very slow serving,... More

this is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Johnson City. From the huge burritos to the authentic Mexican tacos, this place blows all the other Mexican restaurants in town away! Not to mention it has a very happening nightlife

We eat here fairly often. It's always packed but the service is always good, too. Last night my meal was just so-so but my husband's was great. I've never found there to be much alcohol in their margaritas, so I had a glass of sangria- which was tasty. This restaurant has way better food than Amigos! The guacamole is especially... More

We go here all the time! The food is wonderful! It takes a little while to cook (longer than most places) but we are never disappointed :)
