We don't visit Johnson City often but when we do we usually eat at Cootie Browns. For the most part the pizza was pretty good, but the rest of the food was not what we are used to. I have never eaten a tamale but mom ordered them and said they were inedible! The nachos had NO flavor! My Jamaican... More

I am in the Johnson City area about once a quarter on visits to Jonesborough. One day about 2 years ago I was complaining to an innkeeper about the lack of vegetarian options. My likeminded innkeeper friend recommended that I head over to Johnson City and try Cootie Brown's. I was put off at first by the drive and also... More

My wife has extended family from Johnson City, and we stopped in on our visit wit them. They as locals seemed to really like the place and the food was excellent. We all shared pizzas and there was plenty of food for all. Highly recommended!

Super waitress...efficient and friendly! Ordered a hamburger and asked for medium rare. They will not do that...don't you just love that? I ordered it anyway and deserved what I got...a piece of rubber on a fresh roll with all of the trimmings! Also asked for fries, but they don't do fries, so I settled for the hand cut potato chips...anyway... More

Cootie Brown's makes an awesome Prosciutto De Parma pizza. If you like prosciutto, arugula, and balsamic vinegar, then please try this pizza! It is absolutely the best and very addictive. They also have very good nachos and salads. Not the best place to eat if you are trying to eat healthy, but the food is tasty.

Having been referred to Cootie Brown's be two locals, I gave it a shot for supper. The place is easy to find just off I-26 in commercial district. The place was crowded and noisy and the furnishings pedestrian. The staff were fast, friendly, and efficient. Portions were generous. The menu was full of interesting comfort food and All American items.... More

I avoid franchise restaurants and choose to eat local. If you are a fan of "chain" restaurants, this is not the place for you. However, if you like an eclectic mix of food in a unique atmosphere, this is where you need to go. The stand-out menu item is the pizza - any kind! Super thin crispy crust and combinations... More

I have eaten at Cootie Browns twice. Both times my experience was not a good one. But I still gave it an excellent rating. The reason is because I am not the targeted customer for this style of restaurant. The health food, all natural, granola crunching, tree hugging, Hipster, Metrosexuals will absolutely love this establishment. The food seems well prepared... More
