If you like a vinegar barbecue

A lot of people love it I'm more of a Ridgewood fan because the barbecue is sweet and smacks your brain as you eat it however a lot of people like this one because it is very vinegary I'm not a big fan so if you're into sweet barbecue I would recommend somewhere else

The Firehouse is a great place to enjoy lunch or dinner. Good food and great atmosphere. Would recommend it whole-heartedly. Very close to ETSU and downtown, just off the State of Franklin roadway But if you want serious BBQ and have the time, go to:: The Ridgewood in Bluff City about 10-15 miles from J.C. You might have to wait... More

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a few years now, and finally did this past weekend. I will admit that I had high expectations so maybe that's why I was let down. First of all the location was a little more out of the way than I anticipated. The staff was VERY friendly. Very welcoming and helpful.... More

We came here twice during our four night stay. Both times we enjoyed our food (pulled pork and smoked turkey croissant) and found the sides to be very good and the desserts to be quite tasty. The BBQ sauce tends to be of the vinegary variety, which can overwhelm the flavor of the meat. I personally would like a sweet... More

This is a must stop if you are in the area. Eaten here on many occasions and nothing is bad. This best part is the homemade desserts

Having read many of the reviews, we decided to try The Firehouse Restaurant. If you are unfamiliar with the area, you will need the GPS for directions as it is a ways off the interstate. It appears to be a local favorite, and we were up for trying something different. They were crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but when they... More

BBQ chicken was a piece of frozen breast with sauce on it. :( Brisket was tasteless and dry, bun had a freezer burn taste. Potato salad was pretty average.
