One of our favorite BBQ restaurants

When in town we always plan our trip to include a meal here -they are closed on Sunday's. Large portions and a great price. Save room for yummy desserts if possible but it's hard to do .

If you want a "generic" BBQ experience, The Firehouse is for you. The BBQ is very sweet and is cooked "to a fare thee well." Ditto for the sides. Though the service is good, there is a bottleneck at the hostess's counter than can run 20 minutes or more. I find nothing at all exciting about the food or the... More

Arrived on a Wednesday night around 8pm for dinner. We were greeted and seated almost immediately by a friendly staff member. Drink order was taken promptly. Service the entire meal was fine. Nothing exceptional but we never went without anything either. I had the brisket with a baked potato and green beans. Sides were good, and the brisket was just... More

Firehouse has been a tradition since I was a Buc back in the 80's. For continues to be consistent and the beans are on part with Ridgewood which is saying alot! The ribs are real smoke n flavored are always perfect and the pork is always great. The prices at lunch are reasonable as opposed to dinner which is more... More

Just ate lunch here and it was great. The place is an old forestation and it has a very cool atomosphere. It arrived for lunch and found a line out the door. Its very popular and the food is really good. The BBQ and sauce is excellent, I will be back.

First off, the restaurant is an old firehouse. When you walk in, there is an old fire engine which has been restored sitting in the lobby. Once inside the restaurant, you will find fire hoses and helmets on the walls, and a fire hydrant on the floor. Its very cool! Now for the menu. We ordered the Stuffed Potato Skins... More

My wife & I came here one night on our vacation for dinner while we were passing through the Johnson City area. This restaurant was built in an old firehouse & is firehouse themed. Great place if your looking for bbq, they also have burgers, salads among other things. They served good size portions & prices were very reasonable. We... More

Whether a special occasion, a family dinner or a weekday lunch, The Firehouse is the perfect choice for good food, quiet atmosphere and extraordinary service. The owners and managers have a really good model for hiring outstanding young people as waiters. The barbeque pork is the best in the area. I especially like the vinegar based sauce but the sweet... Food was great. Huge portions. The things that killed the review is customer service rude employees dirty silverware and sticky table.

I'm very sorry to hear you had an underwhelming customer service experience. Providing great service to our guests is something we take a lot of pride in and we'd very much like the opportunity to serve you again in the future. Would you mind sending me a few details about your visit so I can look in to things on... More

My family and I eat at Firehouse once or twice a month. Most of the local BBQ places have the same atmosphere, a sandwich and side slapped on a plate and sent out with the customer on a tray from the front counter. Firehouse is slightly more upscale with table-side ordering with the exception of the optional express lunch ordering... More
