I was asked to help a friend move some furniture and to pay me back he offered to buy my lunch at salt and pepper. Wow... The best soul food that I have eaten! If you get a chance to eat here... Try the chicken and waffles!!!!

If you like old fashioned southern food this is the place for you. Memories of my grandmothers cooking always come to mind.

We had about 40 church members to visit Salt N' Pepper. They knew in advance that we would be coming there to dine. They accommodated us by seating us on their outside veranda. We had several table to order appetizers and of course on Sundays they were swamped, but they had our food out in record time and it was... More

The food, at best, was just home cooking. Nothing special but good. Decor, non existing, table and chairs in poor shape. The most surprising the was the Price !! Two Tea's, 2 meatloaf dinners and 1 piece off cake (which was very disappointing) cost more than 2 steak dinners with appetizer and two large beers at OutBack.

.....and yes, the service can be spotty (but friendly) at times, but on this day, everything came together. In spite of them being swamped with a party of 30, we were seated after about a 10 minute wait and our order was taken. I had the chicken livers, deep fried to perfection as they always are, and my wife had... More

My husband ordered Mississippi catfish w/ beans, okra and cornbread. My daughter ordered the... More

This is by far the best food I have ever had. All the way from range appetizer to dessert was phenomenal! The fried green tomatoes were perfect in every way, seasoned just right with a crunch and amazing sauce to go with it. The fried chicken was seasoned all the way through and the mushroom gravy on top was hearty,... More

Me and my husband ate here on a Saturday around 5pm. I had the 5 veg plate and he got chicken tenders plate. Every thing was great. I only have 2 problems the collard greens were alittle to salty and the server had too many tables for one person. But she kept up as best she could. Great fried orka.
