Good place for lunch...

Lunches are the best time to visit. Cheaper and still have a wide variety of food. Only difference for Sunday is an additional meat. Remember to ask for 10% discount if your military or a student.

All you can eat buffet. Food was fresh/hot and good. Staff were excellent. They had lots of variety. Soup, salads, hot food, grilled food, desserts etc. etc.

Restaurant was not 20% full, but it still took forever to go through cashier line to get in. Two cashiers were too busy talking to take care of the line that went past the ice cream parlor. Table was dirty. Shirt stuck to the back of the chair. Restaurant generally smells bad. Restrooms were not clean. Food was not good.... More

The style of restaurant is Buffet style; however if you truly want to experience home cooking, served traditional, this is the place to experience it. Although the furnishings and decor are well-used, the food and wait staff are exceptional. I highly recommend it!

If you hit this place when there are less than 3 buses, it is great. The food is southern and home cooked. The chicken is great and there is a terrific array of food offered. Some of the booths are built for size 2 people only, but if you get a table, it is great.

Sunday morning and we are famished. Our local relatives suggest The Old Country Store, and what a great idea that was. One of the best breakfast buffet I've been to. I couldn't get over the excellent fried chicken, and the country ham (that I swore I hated) was even good. A variety of dishes to please even the most finicky... More

Had their seniors buffet. Outstanding selections on salad bar and fresh hot bar also. The fried catfish was crispy outside but moist and flakey inside. Their pulled pork was flavorful while their bar-b-q ribs just fell off the bones. Their cracklin cornbread flat cakes from the griddle were outstanding as well. Only needed some honey for them.

Take me back to a sweeter and simpler life. Entering the building, you see an nostalgic original post office boxes, set up. Entering the store, is like going back to the wild wild west. There is mason jars of pickled items & jellies. There's barrels along the entry wsy with childhood candies. To the left is a clothing store. Dead... More

Everything I had from the buffet was either outdated or close to it. Salad bar had pickled beats that were fermented and brown ham chunks. Chicken died in vane. I've had better road kill. Seriously. It was cooked so dry it was almost powdery.

The food was good on the buffet with chicken, southern veggies, banana pudding, and much more, but the thing that was the most enjoyable was the atmosphere. The country feeling with the general store and the old ice cream parlor were adorable. It was behind some hotels and could be easily missed. The staff we're hosipitable.
