Real Southern Comfort Food

Stopped for lunch passing through between Nashville and Memphis. Country buffet checked all the boxes for true, good southern comfort food. All the food was made from scratch and excellently prepared. Great fried chicken, catfish, cabbage, black-eyed peas..just like your Mamma made!!!

My family and I went here on a Saturday for lunch and only had like a 3 minute wait which is unusual because this place is packed. Great fruit, salad, food, and dessert bar as always. I did notice they were having a little trouble keeping certain foods filled up and keeping the soup bowls out for people to use.... More

There is a restaurant and lots of candy, old time cafe and plenty of Tennessee souvenirs. Can spend a whole hour in here alone. Displays of old time games and puzzles, Kit Carson jacket and nostalgic memorabilia.

After going through the Casey Jones museum, we enjoyed our lunch at the General Store. The food was great! I had spaghetti and collard greens, cracking cornbread and great northern beans. Ha! All for $5.99! The strawberry cake was extra but worth it!

This is much like going to Cracker Barrel. They have a buffet that is reasonably priced. My husband likes the cornbread cakes. So if you want some good old home cooking check out this store.

We weren't real impressed with the restaurant. It was acceptable but nothing to brag about. However, we had fun in the Country Store and their candy shop. Old time candy memories that you don't find much any more.

We stopped here for breakfast and it was really good. You pay before entering and the wait person brings drinks. The rest is up to you. They had all of the traditional breakfast items and an abundance of fruit choices. Everything was good.

I have been to many places to eat and there is always something that doesn't satisfy my taste buds. I filled my plate up and I couldn't complain about anything on my plate. Everything was seasoned the way I would do in my own kitchen, the greens, the baked chicken was phenomenally good, seasoned and moist. Me and my husband... More
