First time for us at noon. Pretty crowded. We had rib plate and chicken plate. We thought ribs were good but somewhat dry. Chicken plate was ok. Beans and slaw are good. So many places in Memphis serve BBQ but we weren't blown away. We may try something different next time.

Good food and a decent price. The BBQ smelled great and tasted better. Get there early for seating as the place is a bit small. Worth the drive to G'town.

This place is small but we were seated quickly and the food was excellent. The coconut creme pie, made on premises, was the best we'd had anywhere.

as we traveled East this Christmas, we drove through Memphis and I made the decision to stop here based on recommendations from friends. The two things they told me was to get the Ribs and save room for Coconut Cream Pie. Yes we did have to wait in line (even at 2:30pm...just put your name on the list and wait).... More

It is a small establishment but the food is excellent. Of the 20-some bbq joints we have visited countrywide this comes close to the top. Cannot compare it to the other places in Memphis as this was the first and so far only place we ate but one cannot go wrong there. We had pork rib slab complimented with pig... More

After being told by a Commissary employee by phone that they would be open until 9 PM on Christmas Eve, we drove an hour and picked up my elderly handicapped mother-in-law and her special needs daughter. After helping them hobble from the car, we were met in the parking lot at 4 PM by 2 employees who told us they... More

My annual business trip to Memphis always includes a trip to the Commissary - awesome BBQ, the links are to gorgeous too - perfect levels of smoke, flavour and finish - fortunately we got our timing right this time round and there wasn't much of a wait - topped off perfectly with a Fat Tire Belgian Ale - don't think... This is the second time I have eaten at this quaint restaurant You are in the south so you must start off with a sweet tea. You may have had just a few minutes wait, but the smell of the barbeque let's you know there is something delicious ahead. Went both times for lunch a d once had the pulled... More

We ordered a 6-pack meal, and an additional 1 lb. or pulled pork. We came home with enough bbq to make about 20 sandwiches. The portions are amazing, the slaw was some of the best I've had, and the baked beans (which I normally don't like) were full of excellent flavor. This place rocks for Memphis barbeque.

Although they were busy, the service was excellent and homey...all the food our table ordered was outstanding but the chili was really just amazing!
