I was looking for the best BBQ place during our Memphis trip and definitely found it at Germantown Commissary. The location was a bit difficult to locate for a visitor but was easy enough to eventually find. The best way I can describe it, is it is just off the main road on a frontage road, just behind a church... More

Now that was fabulous! Great atmosphere, delicious food (ribs and Shoulder BBQ), nice staff, and most delicious pies--most of them homemade!

I'm more of a fish eater but DAMN! This place was good. You cannot visit Memphis and not visit this place. This place is the trifecta. Great prices. Large quantity of food. And amazing flavors. The cheese platter appetizer is a meal in itself! I highly recommend!!!

The meat was delicious. They are known for the pulled pork and ribs. Both lived up to their reputation. My favorite part of the meal was the BBQ Seasoning on the table. We bought 3 bottles.

This was a recommendation from one of my co-workers. It's a tiny place and I had to wait for 20-30 minutes for a table. It was worth the wait! The ribs were succulent and the beans were superb. The building is right by the train track and several very long freight trains rumbled by whilst I was there. Great fun.

Our hotel recommended this place and we were glad for it. We went on a Monday night, which is all you can eat ribs night. The food and service was great. If you go on a Monday, plan on getting there early. This place is very small and fills up quickly.

I'm sad that my brief time in Memphis was somewhat waisted at this establishment. We were told 30 minutes wait, which turned out to be an hour and 40 minutes. We received no apology and only excuses. We came in high spirits, but were treated very poorly by their host staff. It's a BBQ joint, we get it. It's not... More

Germantown Commissary was suggested by hotel we were staying in. Arrived around 5:30 pm to "beat the crowd", tables are stacked on top of each other..... Literally when sitting at the table the chair from table behind you, the backs are touching. When the other person moves his chair, he moves you. Waitresses no friendly, ask if you need anything... So the chicken was great, I like to order things I can't make at home. But what knocked me out of my chair was the coconut cream pie. All else pales in comparison.
