Why did I not discover this place sooner?

We had heard about their good food and finally went to Barbara's. During our two week Franklin visit, we have been four times for to-go orders. Best chocolate pie ever and scrumptious sourdough rolls. Excellent fried chicken, too. Will have to try more dishes on a future visit. Can't wait for more... read more

Barbara's is a great meat and three. It is homey in it's little house. They are friendly. They have a nice variety of meat choices and vegetable choices. The desserts are good also.

A little too old fashioned southern style for me honestly. Kind of heavy...but I made a meal from the vegetables and rolls. If your tummy can handle this type of food you'll like it!

I never thought anyone could top my own grandmother's Southern Home cooking, but I was wrong. Deliciously wrong. Barbara's is as unique as the owner herself. Enormous (and yummy) yeast rolls accompany every meal. The choices of meats and veggies are all excellent. The homemade pies and cakes are to die for. (My favorite sign: "Desserts is stressed spelled backwards.")... More

Fried Chicken, homemade rolls, creamed potatoes, peach cobbler and iced tea. What more can I say? All home-made and very good!

True home cooking....when it first opened, the kitchen was just the kitchen in an old house. Since, improvements have been made, but it is still like your grandmother's.....always fresh and cooked to order. Great fried chicken and sides....visit but wear your roomy pants!

Food is very good. Fried Chicken is unique and very tasty. Service is friendly and aims to please the customer. Clearly a locals place as our server seemed to know many customers. This place is in a old house and seating is tight so maybe not a great idea to bring large groups. If you like meat and three type... More

Really really good food. The service is good. The place is SMALL, it's a house, no seriously! But it's worth the wait, the fried chicken is wonderful and everything is home made.

That was the best part of the experience. Otherwise, we were disappointed. There was a long wait for a table, the back room where we sat was crowded, untidy, very noisy and we had to wait a really long time for even our rolls, which came long before our water, which came long before our meals. The green beans were... More

While the food was decent (good, not great), the service and overall atmosphere were not. We had a large group (six kids and six adults) in for an early Friday dinner and were excited to meet at a (seemingly) family-friendly establishment between all of our houses. The hostess seemed frustrated when we told her the size of our party and... More
