Good fish and chips

McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery serves a very good fish and chips with the malt vinegar. It can be a bit crowded at lunch time, but the service time is acceptable.

There are some American influences in this most Irish of pubs, from the local microbrews to the tasty cheeseburgers. You can also get a basket of fish and chips that are better than the original in Dublin, and I have been there for it. The Guinness, Harp and Smithwicks are tasty as anywhere. You can count on a perfect shamrock... More

This is a really neat place. They have a great selection of beers and ales, and their food is very good, as well. The atmosphere is fun and makes you feel like you are in Ireland. The wait staff is very cool and very fun. The place can get loud, but that is a part of the atmosphere... just very... More

We hit Main St. Friday during lunch, so every place was packed, including McCreary's. The restaurant is long and narrow, with two rows of parallel tables with bench seating along the walls, punctuated by a 4-seat bar before it gets into the kitchen. Most of the tables are 4 tops, but they're close enough you could go with a larger... More

Long, open seating room is neither the most comfortable (tables are close together) or the most charming, but that all faded into insignificance when we were served excellently-poured Guinness and fresh, piping-hot Fish & Chips. With malt vinegar as a condiment, of course. Not somewhere for that first date but should definately be on the list for the second and... More

McCreary's is full of charm & great food. This little Irish pub is located in Franklin's historic downtown so parking wasn't ideal. The service was friendly but slow. Overall we had a good time and enjoyed some good food.

Very traditional irish food in downtown franklin. Very friendly staff and good beer selection beyond the irish standards. Open bench tables give a euro feel.

Perfectly poured Guinness...including the shamrock in the foam. Great time quick and interesting service! Will be back!

Great place to eat! The food and service were excellent, it was very loud inside, so we asked to be moved outside

My husband and I were in Franklin one Saturday night, not knowing that most spots required a reservation. This one had one table available, and after reading other reviews, we were concerned about the service, but it was great. Most everything is fried, so if you're watching cholesterol or fat, go somewhere else. We had the cheese fries because of... More
