Good original fare

Irish ambience and menu is so refreshing in midst of southern fare. We enjoyed real battered fish and corned beef. My husband was dissaapointed that breakfast menu stopped at 12 as he was hankering for real Irish breakfast. Ah well another visit earlier in the day!

My son and I decided to go to Franklin, Tn. for the day and dined at McCreary's Irish Pub & Eatery for breakfast. Casey had Bangers and Taters with two eggs and a slice of bread. He loved it and would order it again. I ordered Bread Pudding French Toast which was simply amazing. This was served with a strawberry-blueberry... More

This is a tiny restaurant with a microscopic bar at the back. The servers are nice and prompt and the food is good, but not great. The thing holding it back most is a limited menu. If you don't want something fried or heavy you are really relegated to a salmon salad or salmon sandwich. The fish and chips are... More

Stopped in for a beer and fish and chips during Franklin Octoberfest. The service was great, the food was even better, and the beer was cold. Love the cozy atmosphere and personality of the servers.

My husband, daughter and I (and our German Shepherd) sat outside a little after 3:00 today. What excellent service! My daughter and I split an order of fish and chips - very light and yummy. My husband had a corned beef and Swiss cheese sandwich that was pretty good, he said. While we weren't blown away by the food, we... More

I had a hamburger - is was mediocre, lacked much taste and would not get again. My wife had pot pie - average (we love pot pies!) and not too bad. The service was glitch, at best. My hamburger arrived in average time and pot pie didn't come until I was almost done. Service was apathetic, although an apology provided... More

This is one of our favorite places in Franklin. Go on a Friday or Saturday night for the live entertainment, or anytime for the fish and chips and a Smithwicks. Two fish and chips, two beers, $30. And don't forget to tip the musicians!

We went for drinks after having lunch elsewhere, but they also serve food. Cute restaurant and very good service. A great stop in charming Franklin.

Downtown Franklin restaurants on Main St, for the most part are very expensive and have a lot of artsy fartsy food - far out liberal stuff that you would never dream of making yourself like caribou on bean sprouts or tilapia marmalade... McCreary's is an exception. It is a Irish pub and it serves authentic Irish meals. The prices are... More
