Description: Sophisticated Southern and Gourmet Country are great ways to describe the cuisine at the charming Mack & Kate"s Cafe. Named after two sisters, MacKenzie and Kathleen, our family owned and operated establishment will make you feel right at home. Started in a small, sleepy town, Mack & Kate's humbled beginnings took place in a small service station. This charming little destination dining spot grew over eight years, resulting in the Strawn Family relocating Mack & Kates to Franklin, TN. We enjoy seeing our friends from our early days and our new friends here in Franklin. We use the freshest and finest when it comes to our ingredients and always support local farmers and growers. We pride our self in our accommodating and knowledgeable service team and the ability to consistently feed our customers what they are looking for; the freshest from the best.

The Strawn Family, proud proprietors of Mack + Kate, should be as offended as I was when Teresa, the receptionist, approached me half-way through my dessert and invited me to vacate my table by 7:30 pm so that a forthcoming reservation might take my place. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant for another reservation--especially, when I rang... More

Let me begin by saying that the menu posted on OpenTable is from October 2012 - which we discovered when our waiter told us - so do ignore the menu offerings and prices. However, do NOT ignore the other reviews. Remarks about blandness, food temperature, small portion size, indifferent attitude, tacky decor and lack of ambience are so true. The... More

I chose this spot based on previous reviews for an anniversary dinner as we were looking for something new and fresh that was local and unique. And Mack and Kate's fit that bill precisely. Herman, our waiter, was excellent from beginning to end. Was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Was always smiling and eager to meet our wishes. The... More

We chose this restaurant for brunch based on reviews, and were not disappointed. I had steak and eggs. It could not have been better. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Others had the hamburger and fries, and the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. We all agreed that we would be back. Of note:the Bloody Mary's were top notch, as... More

We are never disappointed with their food. We usually get the pork chops which are always tender and flavorful. It's the service that is often lacking. Then we discovered the bar service is fantastic! The biscuits are out fast, the food is always hot and the drinks are served in a flash. Too bad the other servers don't take lessons... More

I love this restaurant, when I visit my family in Franklin and Nashville, I always try to eat here. It has the best bacon deviled eggs period, ever. The food is simply delicious, and love the lump crab and avocado salad, and also the coconut cake for desert! They also have great fried green tomatoes with feta cheese and a... More

We enjoyed our drinks and meals at this warm fancy casual location. Service was very good and attentive. Menu was comprehensive and interesting featuring home classics and chef specialties. Highly recommended for a quiet lovely time. Full bar and specialty house drinks are a bonus.

Really enjoyed the ambiance and setting. Gave us the real feel of being in Tennessee. Food was fantastic. Our group had steak & eggs, quiche, eggs benedict with crab cake and daily special. All were delicious! Even had a blueberry cobbler w/ice cream with breakfast for our table. What the heck, we're on vacation. Great experience.

Four of us had dinner at Mack & Kate's and thoroughly enjoyed it. For starters we split two plates, the Cauliflower Tots and the Fried Green Tomatoes. Hard to say which we liked best. Both were excellent. Two of us had Kate’s Bouillabaisse for a main and Wow! It was exquisite, the broth was so tasty and it was filled... More

The Eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes was delicious. Although the service was a bit slow to start, it improved as more customers came in. The atmosphere was charming with an eclectic decorating scheme. Great sweet tea. All told, a good experience.
