Description: Sophisticated Southern and Gourmet Country are great ways to describe the cuisine at the charming Mack & Kate"s Cafe. Named after two sisters, MacKenzie and Kathleen, our family owned and operated establishment will make you feel right at home. Started in a small, sleepy town, Mack & Kate's humbled beginnings took place in a small service station. This charming little destination dining spot grew over eight years, resulting in the Strawn Family relocating Mack & Kates to Franklin, TN. We enjoy seeing our friends from our early days and our new friends here in Franklin. We use the freshest and finest when it comes to our ingredients and always support local farmers and growers. We pride our self in our accommodating and knowledgeable service team and the ability to consistently feed our customers what they are looking for; the freshest from the best.

Went here for Sunday dinner after a movie. Had fillet mignon with bearnaise sauce and a fried egg on top. Served with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. It was to die for! The steak cut like butter. The sauce was exquisite. Great service to boot! Will definitely be back soon!

This was not my first choice for a restaurant today. Not very busy at all and I can see why. Took almost ten minutes just to take our drink order which consisted of water and ice tea. For some reason they had run out of menus, how does that happen? When I got my water I almost gagged. There was... More

My husband and I have wanted to stop in here many times. Well we finally did and what a wonderful meal! We walked in and were a little surprised that it was as upscale as it was, more so than we were expecting. We were lucky to get one of the last tables since we did not have a reservation... More

We had an opportunity to dine at Mack and Kate's this past Saturday evening. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get a table anywhere in our area for dinner but we got lucky and they had an opening. We had a glass of wine at the bar before we moved to our table. While our table was ready for us almost... More

We enjoyed a Sunday Brunch in this quaint restaurant with two other couples. Recommend reservations, its a busy place. I enjoyed the crab cake Benedict, it was rich but delicious. my favorite was the pineapple gazpacho, I could have made a meal out of that! Our server was pleasant and knowledge and accommodating. I would love to try dinner here... More

The waiter gave us a list if things not to order. When some asked about house red he said it wasn't good and he would pick something. Food portions were small, food was sub par. Waiter couldn't remember simple drink orders. Decor was ok. Overall, wasn't that great.

Six friends enjoyed brunch at Mack & Kate's this past Sunday. We were happy to have a reservation as the restaurant filled up quickly. Comfortable atmosphere and the staff was friendly and knowledgable. They are obviously worthy of the many awards they proudly display. All of the brunch items looked enticing. Our group tried the crab cake Benedict, the veggie... More

The Strawn Family, proud proprietors of Mack + Kate, should be as offended as I was when Teresa, the receptionist, approached me half-way through my dessert and invited me to vacate my table by 7:30 pm so that a forthcoming reservation might take my place. I have never been asked to leave a restaurant for another reservation--especially, when I rang... More

Let me begin by saying that the menu posted on OpenTable is from October 2012 - which we discovered when our waiter told us - so do ignore the menu offerings and prices. However, do NOT ignore the other reviews. Remarks about blandness, food temperature, small portion size, indifferent attitude, tacky decor and lack of ambience are so true. The... More
