Open about a month, Okra is making a splash in Fayetteville and as far away as Huntsville, Al and Franklin, TN. The food is Southern with a flair. This is the only restaurant in Fayetteville with a trained Chef and the quality of the food shows the results of careful training coupled with imagination. Blue Plate special at lunch changed daily as does the dinner special. More up-scale (table cloth and candles) at night.

The ONLY fine dining option in Fayetteville

After being told by the hotel receptionist that they don't have upscale restaurants like "Red Lobster" I knew I was on my own. I ventured "downtown" for dinner at a local café and stumbled into Okra. A real filet was a treat. The sides were somewhat bland but compared to the alternative eateries... read more

By average I mean average but priced like GREAT! The food was acceptable not bad or anything just OK and was very pricey for what it was.

We drove down today from Smyrna...the ride was picturesque and Okra's setting is in the heart of historic small town Tennessee. We stopped in for lunch today and it was wonderful. We all ordered something different so that we could try each others and we were not disappointed. From the homemade grits and hash-brown casserole to mashed potatoes and spicy... More

A nice small place on the north side of the square. I had the blue plate special with two veggies. The chick was just ok and the veggies seemed old and little soggy. I will not e back, was not worth the price. Hard to mess up okie and mash potatoes , but they did.

I was not impressed with the lunch sandwich I had. Lacked any real flavor and the sweet potato fries were greasy. Don't think I'll go back.

What a treasure in this tiny town. The Monty Cristo w pimento cheese was inventive and delicious. Po Boy rocked, too. I'd like to come back for the rotating blue plate specials.

We both had the turkey and brie sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was very yummy and I would eat here again. Nice atmosphere and good service.

Traveling through Fayetteville on backroads traveling South one Sunday and ran across this restaurant for lunch. I was surprised it was open, since Yelp seemed to show that it was closed on Sunday. Overall, I'd say it has unrealized potential. Three categories below -- things I liked, things I didn't like that are choices that the restaurant made, and things... More

I ordered Togo from Okra and the sides were just ok. The smoked pork was delicious, but could have used some more sauce. Also, the corn bread thrown in my bag was rock hard. No joke. As someone who orders Togo often when traveling for work, my biggest pet peeve is getting the worst bread, potato, etc. because you are... More

Located on the town square, this is a lovely cafe in a beautifully decorated old building. Lunch and dinner are offered with brunch on Sunday. I enjoyed lunch here yesterday. Blue plate specials are featured daily and bar-b-que pork and fried catfish were the day's. The catfish was superb as was the fried okra. The sweet & spicy slaw was... More
