A cool local spot

A very good place for locals and for people traveling through the Dunlap area. Food is very good and the pies are not to be missed.

Let me just start by saying, had I not been with my family, I would have left immediately. The walls were covered with flies, and we spent more time waving flies away from our food than we did conversing. As for the food, the only highlight in our party was the meatloaf and chicken tenders. Most of the sides were... More

Man-o-man did I have a hard time rating this place. There's is so much poor to talk about and so much that is very good...thus I averaged them. The good, their fried chicken tenders are really huge giant pieces of chicken breast, coated and fried perfectly. Service however, was awful....but our server was really hustling. We had a table of... More

This place is amazing! The food is delicious and just like your grandmother is in the kitchen seasoning every pot! had the chicken livers and they were the best I have ever eaten! My husband and daughter had the chicken and dressing casserole and loved it. Make sure to get dessert because they taste as wonderful as they look in... More

On Sunday, June 14th, we arrived with a party of 7 (2 were small children). Our arrival time was 11:10. We were told it was going to be "a few minutes." I sat there and watched as almost half (and at times more than 1/2) of the tables remained empty for those with "reservations." I watched the young lady at... More

I had great Italian cream cake here. Unfortunately they had not covered the sliced sides with cellophane. This would have kept it from getting a little dry. It was still quite tasty. The setting is idyllic with a lovely large porch filled with comfy rocking chairs.

We ate lunch here with a group of friends who had recommended it. Good home cooked meals and lunch specials. the service was great and the meals served quickly. The atmosphere was nice with a shelf with cookie jars lining the entire restaurant. There are display cases at the entry with cakes ,pies and other desserts which looked appealing. It... More

Just finished a fabulous dinner at the Cookie Jar in Dunlap, Tn. Not on the maim path but well worth the drive by rolling hills and green pastures with content grazing cows. Catfish cooked to perfection, awesome corn bread and lemon pie, with the perfect balance of tart and sweet like my mama made. Great service. Treat yourself at the... More

Travel through beautiful countryside to eat at The Cookie Jar. The food is country cooking and tastes great. The portions are large and the value is excellent! From the restaurant's front porch, you are treated to a beautiful view. Be sure to room for a yummy dessert.

The food is good and plentiful; worth the drive thru some pretty country side. They offer a wide variety of entrees and side dishes as well as cupcakes, cakes and pies. The minute you step inside this very clean & quaint restaurant you'll understand why it's called the Cookie Jar. One of the reasons we eat here on Sunday is... More
