Great food & service

We ate at The Cookie Jar and received great food and service. The food reminded me of my grand mothers cooking. No really a place for healthy food. The service was quick and friendly. Desserts were excellent.

This is one of those places that when you find it you wonder how it ever got there. The food is great, the atmosphere is even better. If you want a drive out of the city and enjoy some farm scenery, we'd recommend it. The food is great and the deserts are awesome! Great for a family outting. Highly recommended!

This place is not just about the food. The atmosphere is a big part of what makes it great. The Cookie Jar Cafe has a great story and it is written down for you to read at your convenience. It all began with a family farm that nobody wanted to lose. The views are incredible and I would be happy... More

Out for a beautiful fall drive across the mountain, and ended up at the cookie jar. We had already eaten lunch so it was dessert only for us. But wow! The homemade pies were excellent. . .especially the meringue.

We came across this gem searching for a place to celebrate our 19th wedding anniversary. We'd heard about it from friends and made the 45 minute drive to Dunlap, TN. We called and made reservations, which are recommended, and was there when the restaurant opened on a Sunday. This restaurant is set among a family farm and the views are... More

The food is average, some homemade, some frozen. The baked goods are good and homemade. The view of mountains and the setting makes the food taste better. It is a darling little country restaurant with an amazing cookie jar collection in a beautiful setting.

The food isn't bad, per se... Neither is it good. Think a sub par Cracker Barrel with a more limited menu. What warrants the one star review is the service. Perhaps the worst service I've ever experienced.

We've had many meals at The Cookie Jar and I feel sad giving them anything but a stellar review. We went for Friday lunch - a briskly cool beautiful fall day. There were two larger groups there about the same time as we were so I'm attempting to find an excuse for the poor service we received. We arrived and... More

This classic southern style fixings eatery serves up some serious meals that remind me of my Mama's cooking. Yet nothing beats their cookies, cakes and pies for desert. Some like to call it the sugar shack, but we refer to it as our lunch destination if we are having one of those epic days of flying paragliders from Henson's Gap.... More

A friend took me to this out of the way gem for dinner. The views are breathtaking. The food was home cooked and yummy. I had the hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, and fresh tomatoes. My only disappointment was the tomatoes. I specifically asked if they were still in season and fresh. Unfortunately they were not. Every thing else... More
