Wonderful home cooking and desserts to die for! The servers are always nice and the prices are very reasonable.
I ate there for the first time today. It was very good. Home cooking with a rather large menu. The service was very good. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. The desserts were wonderful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.
Southern cooking is offered at reasonable prices. The desserts are the main attraction, however, so be sure eat less so you can enjoy your pick. By the way, the cookie jar collection is impressive.
I've been here 3 times now and my best meal was my first meal. The ribeye steak was excellent. The 2nd time I had the cat fish...disappointing. Third time I had the hamburger steak...just average at best. Overall a little over priced.
We drove to the cookie jar because we had heard some good things about it. We live two hours away. We arrived 10 minutes after their closing time. The restaurant was very crowded when we went in yet they said they had already cut off their grill. They were nice about it, but it I were the owner I would... More
Love a meat & 3. I told the waitress last time I was there that there was a place in heaven for the cooks at this place. Everything I have had there (country cooking) has been top notch. The place is worth the track to get there. It;s clean and I would eat here every day and give up cooking... More
The spaghetti on the kids menu was Chef Boyardee (just like my Mom's been making for 20 years). The chicken fingers and chicken and dumplings were good, and the mac and cheese a 7 out of 10. The burger was OK according to my wife, but the hush-puppies were grease balls. The cake and pie were passable, but probably not... More
A neighbor gave me a brouchere on this restaurant and said "you got to go and at least have dessert". So after doing 6 hours of the World's Longest Yard Sale off Signal Mtn in Chattanooga and driving north thru Dunlap, Tn, I went down one side road a mile then other side road a mile with no "signs" or... My Wife, Grandson, and I had a very good lunch today. We have been here many times in the past and usually it has been as good those times as today. Since our last visit the menu has changed up some and I had what was listed as the Pork Ribeye, cooked to order, (Medium Rare), Turnip Greens, Creamed Corn,... More
My family went to the Cookie Jar for the first time today (we live about 30 minutes away). It seemed like a good little afternoon trip. We arrived around 11:15 Central which was good because it was PACKED by the time we left. The food was a little slow getting to us, but not horrible. I had the baked chicken... More
