took it to go

After a long day on the road we wanted a decent meal with convenience. We ordered it ahead to take back to our room. We ordered the pork chops with an extra one to share. I was expecting a bit more flavor but it was good and there was plenty for two. They gave us extra rolls and anything we... read more

My wife and I have been to the Brass Lantern a number of times, and the experience is always enjoyable. My prime rib on the last visit was a special that evening and was one of the best I've ever had. Wait staff is helpful and welcoming; white linen table cloths and a quiet atmosphere where two can carry on... More

The Brass Lantern had a lively crowd at the bar tonight. Very freindly wait staff, Rhonda was great. Not a dull moment for a Wednesday in this sleepy town. Passing thru on I-40 to Cookeville for business, glad I stopped in. Had the $18 steak special w/salad. It wasn't an Omaha Steak, but was decent.

There was 4 of us eating that evening and we all order different things. We all agreed the meals were OK but there wasn't much flavor to the food. Very bland. The prices were a little bit high for the quality of food.

A group of eight visited this site on October 7, 2015. Four in the party ordered steaks, two ordered the Filet Mignon and said it was "fair". Two, including myself ordered the rib eye. We both agreed that it was the worst steak we had ever had in a restaurant. This was supposed to be a 12 ounce rib eye.... More

The used to be the best restaurant in the county, but it has gone downhill due to ownership changes over the years. You may get an excellent meal with very good service, but you may not. I'm waiting to see if it improves.

The Prime Rib was featured so we each ordered it but with different sides. It was cooked to order (medium) and was tender with not a lot of fat. Our server was good and attentive. The atmosphere was pleasant but a little dated.

We decided at the last minute to try this as we had visited the winery next door earlier in the day and saw the sign for Prime Rib. They offered a seafood bisque as the soup of the day. It was amazing. The Prime Rib was also cooked exactly how I like it, and the portion was more than enough.... More

Horrible food, terrible service, uninviting atmosphere. 116.00$. That's how much my husband and I paid for burnt, inedible steak and drinks. The service was some of the worst I've ever had. Let alone the dingy 1970's decor. When I let the owner know very discreetly we were dissatisfied they could have cared less. My grandmother had salmon she couldn't even choke... More

Finding hair in my dinner sealed the fate of this establishment for me! What more can I say other than the obvious, which is I will neither return nor recommend this place to anyone.
